Waluwalu Seasnake Sanctuary of Olutanga Island, Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines is a well-known tourist spot in Western Mindanao. Around 8 thousand seasnakes of different shapes and sizes are taken cared of by Noy Tiro. From Zamboanga City, a boat going to Olutanga Island costs around 320 pesos. Travel by boat is overnight. Trips are only during Mondays and Fridays. From Olutanga Island proper to the seasnake sanctuary is only around 45 minutes. You will be renting a boat from Noy Tiro (the seasnake caretaker) that can accommodate at most 8 people. You will pay 1,500. This is already good for back and forth. The most ideal time to go there is during early in the morning because it is high tide.

I was watching this sea snake, and then it went up for air. That was the first time I have ever actually seen them do it. At around 3:02 it goes up to the surface, and it's head comes about 8 inches out of the water. The last 4 minutes or so of the video are some underwater photos from Maripipi Island. The video and photos were taken with an old Canon Powershot SD1200 IS Digital Elph 10.0 Mega-pixel in a Dicapak WP 410 Waterproof pouch which worked excellent for a whole month of snorkeling. These photos do not do justice to the nice coral and variety of fish there.

This video was shot at the Toliet bowl in Okinawa, Japan. I came across this sea snake and I was watching it for a little and noticed it really wasn't moving. I touched it very cautiously to see if it was dead, the more I touched it I soon realized it had gotten it's self stuck. Eventually we pulled it out just enough to free it from the hole. He swam away very quickly but you could tell he was thankful. This video was shot on my Canon G12 in the Ikelite underwater housing.

PLEASE HELP ME IDENTIFY THIS TYPE OF SEA SNAKE: I found it in the shallow coral beaches of Palawan (Philippines) during our snorkelling expedition. I left it when it dug and hide itself underneath the sandy surface on the bottom of the sea. No video enhancements were used except for the original HD video footage using the white balance #2 underwater feature of my waterproof camera.

Maybe somebody can help identify this snake and let us know if it poisonous or not? There are beautiful, crystal clear waters on Tanna Island. You could see forever during this dive. A group of B'laan tribe found a weird creature in Tampakan, South Cotabato, Philippines. First, they thought it was a huge snake swallowing a helpless person. But it turned out to be a snake with a human head. If you notice its feet, it's like the chicken's. Weird and creepy.

For one month from June to July I stayed at Liberty's Resort on Apo Island in the Philippines. This is video showcasing the diving at Apo Island. The island has some of the best preserved coral reefs in the Philippines and has abundant marine life inhabiting the reef including: moray eels, trevally, triggerfish, boxfish, sea snakes and a huge host of turtles. Special thanks to everyone at Liberty's Resort, they made my stay very comfortable and were very friendly
