Oracle Data Pump

11:52
Oracle Data pump utility enables very fast bulk data and metadata movement between Oracle databases. It provides parallel Export and Import utilities (expdp and impdp) and Web-based Oracle Enterprise Manager Interface. 1. Data Pump Export and Import utilities are typically much faster than the original Export and Import Utilities. A single thread of Data Pump Export is about twice as fast as original Export, while Data Pump Import is 15-45 times fast than original Import. 2. Data Pump jobs can be restarted without loss of data, whether or not the stoppage was voluntary or involuntary. 3. Data Pump jobs support fine-grained object selection. Virtually any type of object can be included or excluded in a Data Pump job. 4. Data Pump supports the ability to load one instance directly from another (network import) and unload a remote instance (network export).

Excel: How to Best Import External Data into Excel & Import data from the Web to Excel

11:16
Get the full course: http://www.xelplus.com/onlineAdvancedExcelCourse Excel has various tools that can help you easily clean up your raw data for further analysis. Apart from using formulas and formatting, there are two useful Excel features that let you easily clean up. One method is text to columns feature and the other to import external data. The Get External Data tool can be used to import and analyse data from other systems. This tool is also useful for importing data to run your dashboards or do further analysis using pivot tables, etc. Usually you can get data extracts from any system (e.g. “.dat” or “.csv” from Oracle, “.xml” files from SAP, etc.). These can be imported into Excel. Importing External Data also gives you control over the decimals and thousand separator, especially if you’re dealing with international companies. In the US, the decimal is dot and the comma is a thousand separator and in most European countries it’s the other way round, where the comma is a decimal and the dot a thousand separator. It’s always safest to Import it properly with the Excel Data Import wizard! After importing press Ctrl + T to create a table out of it. You can create a pivot table off this one, and when you do, even if you add more data to it, the pivot reflects the new data. Importing Data from the Web / Internet into Excel – creating web queries that refresh automatically: In Excel you can also import data directly from the web. You basically create a web query which you set to refresh automatically based on your preference. ➹ ➹ ➹ My Online Excel Courses ➹ ➹ ➹ Excel VBA & Macros ► http://bit.ly/LeilaVBA Excel Dashboards ► http://bit.ly/LeilaDashboards Excel Charts ► http://bit.ly/LeilaCharts Advanced Excel ► http://bit.ly/LeilaAdvancedExcel Excel Waterfall Charts ► http://bit.ly/LeilaWaterfall 🕮 Recommend Excel Resources 🕮 https://www.xelplus.com/resources/ ✉ Subscribe to my Newsletter ✉ Stay informed and get discounts when new courses come out: http://www.xelplus.com/

Customizing Navigation Flow in Oracle EPBCS: Demonstration

21:10
What makes iPhones so alluring to the many business professional around the world? It’s Apple’s ability to maintain it’s simple and user friendly interface regardless of the many updates. It also helps iPhone users organize their cellphone content into convenient folders that clusters similar applications together for fast accessibility. Similarly, the simplified user interface with PBCS has always been a user friendly experience with an intuitive layout that helps users seamlessly navigate around the application. From the beginning it also included a feature called Task Lists that would give guided instructions to planners completing their reporting. Recently, EPBCS has brought something new to the table. A feature that exists right on the home screen and to many, may seem a bit familiar to Task Lists. The Navigation Flow feature helps organize components of the application while maintaining that user friendly, colorful design we see on the home screen. Controlled solely by the administrator, Navigation Flow can be used to assign EPBCS components to new cards, give asses to certain members or groups, and create multiple variations of Navigation Flows while activating and deactivating them one at a time. In this demo, we’ll take a closer look at creating customized clusters and cards while also understanding the different accessibility options joined with Navigation Flow.

R tutorial: connecting to a database

03:38
Learn more about connecting to databases with R: https://www.datacamp.com/courses/importing-data-in-r-part-2 Welcome to part two of importing data in R! The previous course dealt with accessing data stored in flat files or excel files. In a professional setting, you'll also encounter data stored in relational databases. In this video, I'll briefly talk about what a relational database is and then I'll explain how you can connect to it. In the next video, I'll explain how you can import data from it! So, what's a relational database? There's no better way to show this than with an example. Take this database, called company. It contains three tables, employees, products and sales. Like a flat file, information is displayed in a table format. The employees table has 5 records and three fields, namely id, name and started_at. The id here serves as a unique key for each row or record. Next, the products table contains the details on four products. We're dealing with data from a telecom company that's selling both with and without a contract. Also here, each product has an identifier. Finally, there's the sales table. It lists what products were sold by who, when and for what price. Notice here that the ids in employee_id and product_id correspond to the ids that you can find in the employees and products table respectively. The third sale for example, was done by the employee with id 6, so Julie. She sold the product with id 9, so the Biz Unlimited contract. These relations make this database very powerful. You only store all necessary information once in nicely separated tables, but can connect the dots between different records to model what's happening. How the data in a relational database is stored and shuffled around when you make adaptations, depends on the so-called database management system, or DBMS you're using. Open-source implementations such as MySQL, postgreSQL and SQLite are very popular, but there are also proprietary implementations such as Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL server. Practically all of these implementations use SQL, or sequel, as the language for querying and maintaining the database. SQL stands for Structured Query Language. Depending on the type of database you want to connect to, you'll have to use different packages. Suppose the company database I introduced before is a MySQL database. This means you'll need the RMySQL package. For postgreSQL you'll need RpostgreSQL, for Oracle, you'll use ROracle and so on. How you interact with the database, so which R functions you use to access and manipulate the database, is specified in another R package called DBI. In more technical terms, DBI is an interface, and RMySQL is the implementation. Let's install the RMySQL package, which automatically installs the DBI package as well. Loading only the DBI package will be enough to get started. The first step is creating a connection to the remote MySQL database. You do this with dbConnect(), as follows. The first argument specifies the driver that you will use to connect to the MySQL database. It sure looks a bit strange, but the MySQL() function from the RMySQL package simply constructs a driver for us that dbConnect can use. Next, you have to specify the database name, where the database is hosted, through which port you want to connect, and finally the credentials to authenticate yourself. This is an actual database that we're hosting, so you can try these commands yourself! The result of the dbConnect call, con, is a DBI connection object. You'll need to pass this object to whatever function you're using to interact with the database. Before we do that, let's get familiar with this connection object in the exercises!

Dropping a Database via RMAN

01:44
In Oracle Database 10gR1 Oracle introduced the RMAN command DROP DATABSE. This one simple statement has the ability to completely remove a database including all RMAN backups with the optional INCLUDING BACKUPS clause. DROP DATABASE removes all data files, control files, online redo logs. The DROP DATABASE command can optionally delete backups including backup sets, proxy copies, image copies and archive redo logs from the target database from all configured device types. If the target database is connected to a recovery catalog at the time DROP DATABASE is issued the target database will be unregistered as well as drop delete any backups known to catalog. If the command is issued in NOCATALOG mode then any backups known to the catalog will not be dropped but they will not be in the target database control file either. The DROP DATABASE must be executed in RMAN while connected to the target database that is mounted and not open and started in RESTRICT SESSION. Below is a demonstration of the DROP DATABASE command that will drop the database and all backups associated with the database. The Database in the example was not registered with a recovery catalog.

20:11
SSIS Video Scenario: How to Import Multiple Text or CSV files to SQL Server Table by using Script Task in SSIS Package You are working as ETL Developer / SSIS Developer. You get single or multiple text/csv files in Source Folder on daily basis. You want to create an SSIS Package that should be able to load all the files to single Table and archive after loading to table. You want to built this package with configuration so by only provide different configuration values, it should be able to handle below scenarios 1) If your file provider decided to provide .txt file, it should be able to take them and load them 2) if your file provide decided to provide .csv files , by changing configuration value , package should be able to load the files 3) Table Name can change any time, so you should be able to provide table name by using configuration 4) Source Folder Path and Archive Folder Path can change, so you should be able to handle through configuration 5) File delimiter can also change, let's say you are getting files with comma(,). The file provider can make decision moving forward, he will be provide files with pipe( | ) .
