Fixed Stars in Astrology

33:15
How fixed stars are interpreted in astrology. We learn how we can obtain interpretations of fixed stars conjunct planets and also the different ways that astrologers interpret fixed stars. Some astrologers are interested in what fixed stars are rising, setting, culminating, and anti-culminating in a chart. Some are interested in what planets rise or set at the degree that is rising or setting when a fixed star rises and sets. We see how to obtain these listings, the fixed star chart wheel, and other information in the Sirius 2.0 software. We also learn about the motion of fixed stars over very long periods of time. The Sirius 2.0 software used in this video is developed and copyrighted by Cosmic Patterns Software and the company website is http://www.AstroSoftware.com The background music at the beginning and end of this video is "Dance of Shiva" by Karmacosmic. Fixed Star ALDEBRAN

03:57
Fixed star Aldebaran is found at 9º 47’ Gemini in the right eye of the bull in Taurus. It is probably the most famous of the four Archangel stars representing St Michael. God’s military commander and opposite his nemesis Antares in the Scorpion. Aldebaran seems to have gained the better reputation than his opposite number. But really, Aldebaran and Antares are two sides of the same coin. Aldebaran actually has a more stormy reputation than one would imagine. This is because the left eye, Ain, forms part of the notorious Hyades star cluster. This bunch of rainy stars splatter across the bulls face. Aldebaran though, is the bull’s right eye. It’s status as a raging red giant ensures its position as the Alpha male of the bunch, even though it is sometimes described as a rather fey “pale rose red” star. I don’t think so!…

The Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius: What They Are and When They Begin

36:18
A simpler and shorter version of this video was made almost 3 years after this one and is at https://youtu.be/mh9TRqnvHIY This newer video explains what the astrological ages are in a simpler and more direct way but this video contains some additional information that is not in the newer video. The Astrological Ages are created by the movement of the Vernal Equinox and the Autumnal Equinox in retrograde motion through the fixed stars and constellations. We learn what the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes are and that the tropical zodiac is based on them. We also learn about the sidereal zodiac, which, like the tropical zodiac consists of 12 signs of 30 degrees each but is based on the fixed stars rather than the Vernal Equinox and the Tropical zodiac. The movement of the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes retrograde through the constellations is caused by the slow wobble of the Earth and is known as the precession of the equinoxes. The equinoxes (and therefore the tropical zodiac) move through the constellations at a rate of about 1 degree per 72 years, which is equal to about 2,160 years for 30 degrees, and almost 26,000 years for the entire circle of 360 degrees. The sidereal zodiac sign that the Vernal Equinox is in determines the Astrological Age. Because the exact position of the sidereal zodiac is not agreed upon, different authorities give different dates for the start of the astrological ages. According to most astrologers the Age of Pisces began roughly between about the year 1 and the year 400. The Age of Aquarius will occur some time within about 100 years from now to several hundred years from now according to most astrologers. We also consider some of the major historical themes for the past 2,000 years and how they appear to reflect the Pisces and Virgo themes that we expect from the concept of Astrological Ages. We discuss a few different possibilities for why there appears to be a correspondence between the Age of Pisces and major historical themes of the past 2,000 years. We also consider what likely themes for the Age of Aquarius are if the theory of Astrological Ages is valid.

Fixed Star Regulus Heart of the lion

12:50
Alpha (α) Leo, Regulus, is a triple star, 1.7, 8.5, and 13, flushed white and ultramarine in the Lion. Regulus was so called by Polish astronomer Copernicus (1473-1543), as a diminutive of the earlier Rex, equivalent to the (Greek) Basiliskos (translated "Little King") of the second-century Greek astronomer Ptolemy. This was from the belief that it ruled the affairs of the heavens,— a belief current, till three centuries ago, from at least 3000 years before our era. Thus, as Sharru, the King, it marked the 15th ecliptic constellation of Babylonia; in India it was Magha, the Mighty; in Sogdiana (a Persian people), Magh, the Great, {p.256} Miyan, the Centre; among the Turanian races, Masu, the Hero; and in Akkadia it was associated with the 5th antediluvian King-of-the-celestial-sphere, Amil-gal-ur, (Greek) Amegalaros. A Ninevite tablet has:"If the star of the great lion is gloomy the heart of the people will not rejoice." #fixedstar,#regulus, freetarotreading,#dailyhoroscope,#famousastrologer,#starlightastrology,#positive,#negative, aspects

The Validity of the Sidereal Zodiac

38:53
The tropical zodiac vs. sidereal zodiac is a big debate among many astrologers. Each astrologer must choose whether to use the tropical zodiac or the sidereal zodiac, or to use both or neither. It is possible to use neither zodiac because some astrologers interpret only planetary configurations, and planetary configurations do not depend on a zodiac. In another video I explain the recent support for the tropical zodiac from controlled research studies, and that this research puts the tropical zodiac a step ahead of the sidereal zodiac in terms of being attractive to people in today's Information Age where we expect verification of ideas from research. However, there are compelling reasons to suspect that the sidereal zodiac is also valid, and to suspect that future similar controlled research of the sidereal zodiac will confirm the validity of the sidereal zodiac: 1. If you believe in the astrological ages, such as that we are entering the Aquarian Age, then you must believe in both the tropical zodiac and sidereal zodiac. The astrological are created by the relationship of the tropical zodiac and sidereal zodiac so you cannot believe in the astrological ages without also believing in both zodiacs. 2. We often interpret fixed stars in the context of the constellation that they are in. For example, many astrologers interpret Regulus as being related to Leo even though right now Regulus is in Virgo. This implies that there is some validity to either constellations or sidereal zodiac signs. 3. There is also a close relationship of nakshatras and zodiac signs. For example, the nakshatra Magha is at the beginning of Leo and Magha shares the regal qualities of Leo. 4. Some Hellenistic astrologers, such as, for example, Vettius Valens, were sidereal astrologers. There is a tendency to think of western astrology as tropical and Indian astrology as sidereal, but it is not as black-and-white. Sidereal astrology has been used in western astrology up until at least the 8th or 9th century. There is also the modern western sidereal astrology movement. For western astrologers who have felt thta sidereal astrology is something outside their domain, the consideration that sidereal astrology is not as foreign as it may have seemed can make for a greater receptivity to sidereal astrology. 5. The Vedic astrologers who speak at Vedic astrology conferences in the west as well as a great many Vedic astrologers in India and other places are very sophisticated, sensitive, and careful in their analysis. The high level of professionalism among these astrologers, and that many of them are educated in areas of psychology, counseling, or the sciences suggests that sidereal Vedic astrology cannot be easily dismissed. 6. When one interprets the sidereal zodiac signs in a way that is consistent with how sidereal signs are interpreted in a sidereal system the results are more impressive than if you interpret the zodiac signs using tropical zodiac sign meanings. An example of this is given in this video. In this video a chart wheel with nakshatras around the outer edge is shown. This chart wheel was produced with the Sirius 3.0 astrology software. Sirius is developed and copyrighted by Cosmic Patterns Software and the company website is www.AstroSoftware.com

12 Zodiac Signs & What They Mean | Astrology Charts

04:11
Watch more How to Understand Your Astrological Chart videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/515410-12-Zodiac-Signs-and-What-They-Mean-Astrology-Charts Hi, I am Jenny Lynch, and I'm talking about the zodiac signs and what they mean. So the first sign of the zodiac is Aries, and Aries is represented by a ram, okay? and is a fire sign. So we know that Aries people have the qualities of being impulsive, of being leaders, of being very impatient. They're also natural born entrepreneurs; they want to do things, they don't want to just sit here; they want to just go and do things. Taurus is the bull, does not move as fast as Aries. Taurus is grounded, is patient, but it also can be very stubborn. So that's is one of the qualities of Tauruses, that they're fixed; once they make out their mind is hard to change it.. With the Gemini, that's the sign of the twins, they're always changing their mind, okay? Is a dual sign, is an air sign too, so qualities of Gemini are endlessly curious, very social, friendly people, intellectual too, and they like a lot of stimulation. When we get to Cancer we are talking about the sensitive side. It's the crab, and if the crab gets sensitive, it would close down and run away, but they're also very much into their family, and they're very sweet and loving people, you just have to win their trust. When it comes to Leo, Leo is the lion, roar, you've heard this before, but it does mean that the person is a very loyal person. They are very honorable generally, generous, good courteous. Those are other fine qualities. they can also be very talented. With Virgo, the Virgin. We are talking about someone who is interested in health, nutrition, who is very organized usually, although the key word here is compulsive. And so, either they'll be really neat, or they could be very sloppy. But the main thing about Virgo is that they love to serve other people. So if you  have one in your life you're quite lucky. Now, we get into Libra. Libra is the sign of the scales, and Libras are all about beauty, grace, refinement, the arts. They're into relationships very much. You'll never ever hardly ever see a single Libra. Let's talk about Scorpio.  Scorpio is the scorpion okay. It's also the eagle. There's two different types of Scorpios they say; the ones that are very high with moral standing, and the other ones that go down, they take that road instead. So when you are thinking about a Scorpio do, you are thinking about someone who is very intense, who is very driven, and who can very much want to be a part of your life and merge. This is someone who doesn't take any thing lightheartedly. I'm talking about a Sagittarius, we are talking about lighthearted. Sagittarius is the happy go lucky sign of the archer. And they always say with Sagittarius that the symbol of the archer pointing the bow back it means that they are looking far into the future, or a far distance away. So these people often love to travel, and love foreign cultures, and they're very philosophical. Capricorn, this is the goat, the mountain goat. Highly, highly ambitious, they want to climb the mountain alright? You get the idea here, it's a earth sign, they're very practical, really organized and they usually do really well in business, and with any kind of structure, because they're ruled by Saturn. When we get to Aquarius, this is the friendship sign. It's also the water bearer; of carrying of liquids, but is the most friendly social sign of all. Very strong with humanitarians, they love to be around groups of people, and they often make great doctors. When we get to Pisces, we are talking about another dual sign; the fish swimming in two different directions. So, Pisces is often  a very sensitive, very mystical, and very misunderstood sign, okay? They are highly sympathetic, and as I said before, this is a sign that kind of go with the flow, it's a water sign. And those are the twelve signs of the zodiac, and a little about them.

One of the most overlooked positions in an astrology chart are the places in the zodiac where there are fixed stars in play. For thousands of years, the fixed stars have been observed and categorized by their position and magnitude. The myths that accompany these wonderful indicators reveal tremendous insight to today's astrology charts, given we take the time to use them.

Why Sidereal Charts Based on a Fixed Star Are Slightly Inaccurate

20:58
Although it is commonly believed that the Lahiri ayanamsha places Spica at exactly 0 degrees Libra, most astrology software does not place Spica precisely at 0 Libra in the sidereal zodiac. There is a good reason for this: the proper motion of Spica would cause the sidereal zodiac to be oriented precisely to Spica rather than to most stars and to the galactic center. This is also true for the Fagan-Bradley ayanamsha which is based on placing the fixed star Aldebaran at exactly 15 degrees Taurus and for any sidereal zodiac based on the placement of a fixed star. Just as with the Lahiri ayanamsha, most astrology software does not place Aldebaran precisely at the specific zodiac position that it supposedly is placed at. If we were to use an ayanamsha that is based precisely on the position of a fixed star. then the wobble of the Earth would be considered completed when returning back to wherever the fixed star had traveled rather than in relationship to the fixed stars in general. With the help of diagrams and a table of positions of Spica and Aldebaran at 4 points in time, these concepts are described clearly so that you can understand appreciate why the precise position of a fixed star is not usually used as the basis of the sidereal zodiac.

27-STARS

01:35
The zodiac according to Indian Astrology comprises of 360 degrees. There are 27 Nakshatras or constellations in it.Therefore, the value of each constellation is 13 degrees and 20 minutes when measured from the fixed initial point. These 27 Nakshatras(stars) complete the entire circle of 360 degrees of the zodiac. A forecast based on the transit/ correlation/inter - relation of planets in relation to the Nakshatras is more accurate than the results predicted on the basis of any other system.

So you can know how to read your natal chart. Today we are covering what is a zodiac sign. Remember that you need a copy of your natal chart on astro-charts.com with you to use while we do this. So you can know how to read your natal chart. There are 12 zodiac signs and they go in this order according to the time of year that they govern in accordance with the movement of the sun through the fixed star constellation; (Aries - Pisces). So, each zodiac sign represents each common archetype that exists within all living beings as a collective. We each have all of the archetypes associated with each zodiac signs within us. We just prefer to use one over the other or use two or three archetypes for different circumstances in our lives. For example we may prefer to act out the Aries archetype in the workplace but act out the Scorpio archetype at home. This should help you know how to read your natal chart better. Look at Lady Gaga’s Natal chart, around the outer edge of the wheel we see the names of all zodiac signs. And the symbols inside are the planets and which zodiac signs they fall into. If you scroll down, you will see that she has a sun in Aries, moon in Scorpio, mercury in Pisces and so on. If you keep scrolling you’ll see that it says her 1st house starts at Gemini, 2nd house Cancer and so on…and there are 12 different zodiac, or ALL of the zodiac archetypes governing each of her houses. (We will be going through planets and houses as we go through this series not to worry). You will know how to read your natal chart comprehensively. Have a look at your natal chart right now and see what zodiac governs which planet and house. And that’s 3 minutes for you today. Why Your Horoscope Is Wrong

03:23
!!!!!READ THE UPDATE BELOW!!!!!!!! So turns out there's some (like think, minimal) science behind astrology. Also, turns out the horoscope signs were determined some 2200 years ago and haven't been recalibrated. This means, because of the Earth's wobble cycle around its axis, all of our horoscopes are about ONE MONTH off of what they should be. Not to mention, each of the 12 constellations do not span 30 degrees exactly across the sky, so horoscopes should be varying lengths, not one month each. If you want to find out what your new horoscope is, consult this chart: Capricorn - Jan 20 to Feb 16 Aquarius - Feb 16 to Mar 11 Pisces - Mar 11 to Apr 18 Aries - Apr 18 to May 13 Taurus - May 13 to Jun 21 Gemini - Jun 21 to Jul 20 Cancer - Jul 20 to Aug 10 Leo - Aug 10 to Sep 16 Virgo - Sep 16 to Oct 30 Libra - Oct 30 to Nov 23 Scorpio - Nov 23 to Nov 29 Ophiuchus - Nov 29 to Dec 17 Sagittarius - Dec 17 to Jan 20 *I imagine that the addition of the Ophiuchus sign is because Scorpio's constellation does not span a full 30 degrees, but that's just my speculation. Lol, so don't quote me on that! I got all my information from this website: http://www.livescience.com/4667-astrological-sign.html , so if you want to know more about what little science lies behind astrology, you can check out the site! !!UPDATE!!! I learned something new. Your horoscope hasn't changed if you are measuring off the tropical (Western) zodiac. This is because the tropical zodiac isn't fixed to the constellations, it's fixed to the equinoxes (the seasons, essentially). Which begs the question, why does Western astrology claim to be "reading the stars" when in reality, it doesn't even concern itself with the stars? Seems suspicious. Read the CNN article here: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/13/no-your-zodiac-sign-hasnt-changed/ Also read the Wiki article on it because stars are just fascinating, no? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidereal_and_tropical_astrology If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up!
