Hexadecimal File-Music

04:13
Files can be converted to music using two octaves of the C-Scale to represent hexadecimal numbers as "nibbles" (half-bytes). A "pause" would be considered Hex-0. On the musical scale, Low C would be Hex-1, D would be Hex-2, E would be Hex-3, etc., and High C would be Hex-F. The sound-file that was generated could be digitally converted directly into Hex notation and/or digitally converted into a musical score that could later be converted back into a sound-file for Hex notation decoding of the original file. The included sound recording and Hex decoding was recorded using 1/16 staccato notes and a tempo of 120 beats per minute. The 14 binary bytes at the beginning of the file are to allow for setting the recorder so that all the bytes of the actual file are captured - similar to the use of "CQ's" at the beginning of a morse code message.

Python Tutorial: File Objects - Reading and Writing to Files

24:33
In this Python Tutorial, we will be learning how to read and write to files. You will likely come into contact with file objects at some point while using Python, so knowing how to read and write from them is extremely important. We will learn how to read and write from simple text files, open multiple files at once, and also how to copy image binary files. Let's get started. The code from this video can be found at: https://github.com/CoreyMSchafer/code_snippets/tree/master/Python-Files Read more about opening in binary mode here: https://docs.python.org/3/library/functions.html#open If you enjoy these videos and would like to support my channel, I would greatly appreciate any assistance through my Patreon account: https://www.patreon.com/coreyms Or a one-time contribution through PayPal: https://goo.gl/649HFY If you would like to see additional ways in which you can support the channel, you can check out my support page: http://coreyms.com/support/ Equipment I use and books I recommend: https://www.amazon.com/shop/coreyschafer You can find me on: My website - http://coreyms.com/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/CoreyMSchafer Twitter - https://twitter.com/CoreyMSchafer Google Plus - https://plus.google.com/+CoreySchafer44/posts Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/coreymschafer/ #Python

Fastest 10-Seconds SUBNETTING Trick for CCNA Exam - Find any subnet within 10 seconds guaranteed

15:41
*** Fastest 10-Seconds SUBNETTING Trick for CCNA and other Cisco Certification Exams *** ..... Guaranteed subnet calculation UNDER 10 SECONDS without any errors ...... Hey guys, as we all know, that all Cisco certification exams are crucially timed, and the regular subnetting process, involving binary conversions, consumes a lot of valuable time. So I came up with a easy guaranteed shortcut method for quickly finding out the subnetting parameters of any IP address (network address, broadcast address, etc). This video is about 15 minutes, thoroughly explaining how to use and reproduce the simple chart in your certification exams. I also performed a couple of demonstrations on how to use the chart to your satisfaction. At the end of the video, along with a little practice, you're guaranteed to significantly improve your subnetting skills and time (under 10 seconds). This method makes use of a very straightforward Subnetting Chart, which is nothing like those scary looking big and confusing charts that you find elsewhere. This chart of mine is easily reproducible during the exam (even a 1st grader can make the chart from scratch and only takes less than a minute to make it). This chart makes subnetting incredibly easier by skipping the tedious binary conversions involved, also preventing any inadvertent errors. During the binary conversions, if you make even one mistake in one of the 32 bits of the IP address, the entire IP address becomes invalid. This chart absolutely eliminates the need for using any binary numbers. Before learning this shortcut method, it is strongly recommended that you know the traditional method of subnetting which involves binary conversions. So there you go! The CCNA exam includes at least 3 or more subnetting questions, and now you can easily and quickly figure out the correct answer for any subnetting questions. And this subnetting method need not necessarily apply to just certification exams alone, you can also safely use it in your workplace, and increase your network planning efficiency. So, whether you are in your company, work-place, among professional peers, etc, you can now show off your subnetting skills and infact amaze them how you're able to do subnetting so quickly! YouTube LINK :- (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lskuzOYMVYQ) Feel free to comment or post suggestions. Please share this method with others so they may also benefit from this. Happy Subnetting!! Free BONUS:- LINK to the printable layout (PDF) for this subnetting chart :- https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B74wQpf0jMGJbW9zS29FR0REQWs As explained in the video, with the above PDF, you'll be able to convert this chart into a neat little card that will fit into your wallet :) If you found my method useful, kindly consider donating any amount of your choice at https://www.paypal.me/royarpit _____________________________________ UPDATE:- Now you can save even more time in making the "Multiples of 8" table during your exam by following very simple steps mentioned in the video made by my friend RK CST. https://youtu.be/3xJbttYhYgM

Computer Skills Course: Bits, Bytes, Kilobytes, Megabytes, Gigabytes, Terabytes

04:51
Free Computer Skills Course: Digital Storage Terminology. Learn about Bits, Bytes, Kilobytes (KB), Megabytes (MB), Gigabytes (GB), Terabytes (TB). Transcript: Let’s continue learning about how computers store data. As we learned earlier, computers use the Binary number system, which has only two numbers, one and zero. The word that’s used to describe these binary digits, which can be either one or zero, is Bit – B-I-T = It’s short for ‘binary digit’ and it is the smallest unit of data in a computer. Now, these Bits – these ones and zeroes – are used to store all kinds of information, from the text that appears on your screen, to the colors of an image, to the sounds that come out of your speakers. To store information like this, we use a bunch of bits together. The number of bits we have determines how much information we can store. Now for our next term: It turns out, if you take 8 of these bits – 8 of these ones and zeroes - and put them together, that’s called a Byte. Sounds like a mouthful of food, but it’s spelled with a ‘y’ and it refers to 8 bits put together. In everyday terms, you can think of one byte as the amount of space it takes to store one single letter or symbol in a text document. If you wrote a short story with 1000 words, this would take up 1000 bytes of storage space. That brings us to our next term. If you take 1000 bytes and put them together, that’s called a Kilobyte, often abbreviated as “kb”. Now, I will mention just once, that technically there are 1024 bytes in a kilobyte, and that’s because computers use binary and everything comes in powers of two. That said, it doesn’t really matter, it’s ok to think of a kilobyte simply as 1000 bytes, similar to how a kilometer is 1000 meters. One Kilobyte is enough space to hold about two pages of text. Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the 5.25” floppy disk was a popular storage option, and it could hold 360kb of information. So now, what’s it called if you have 1000 kilobytes? It’s called a Megabyte, often abbreviated as capital “MB”. One megabyte is enough space to hold about 5 books, or one photo, or one minute of music. Back in the 1980s, we had these things called floppy disks. This was a 3.5” floppy disk that held 1.44MB of data, which was pretty good at the time, because most files were pretty small. Alright, now you’re probably wondering, what’s it called if you have 1000 megabytes? 1000 megabytes is called a Gigabyte, and it’s enough space to hold about 400 books, or a thousand pictures, or 16 hours of music. By the mid 1990s, you could buy a 1GB hard drive for a couple hundred bucks. Today, you can buy 1 GB flash drive for about $5. Ok, so what’s it called when you have 1000 gigabytes? 1000 gigabytes is called a Terabyte, and is often abbreviated as “TB”, and it’s enough space to hold about 400,000 large books (that’s about 30 school libraries), a million pictures, or two years of continuous music. Today, you can buy a 1TB hard drive for under $50. Yes, it’s pretty amazing. So, to recap, we talked about Bits, how there are 8 bits in 1 byte, how there are 1000 bytes in 1 kilobyte, and 1000 kilobytes in 1 megabyte, and 1000 megabytes in 1 gigabyte, and 1000 gigabytes in 1 terabyte. I hope you’ve enjoyed this video and that you have a better understanding of digital storage terminology.

This 500-level report contains information about the internal data storage format in SQL Server (MDF files), as well as about how you can work with the data using only a hex editor. You will learn about how SQL Server stores internal metadata for objects and about how you can find and read the data on the disk.

Net Revenue values are stored in the “In RAM Memory” Data Model 16. (25:40) Discuss Convention for using Columns in formulas: ALWAYS USE TABLE NAME AND COLUMN/FIELD NAME IN SQUARE BRACKETS 17. (26:24) Look at How REALTED works across relationships 18. (27:07) Discussion of Row Context 19. (29:25) Create Measure for Total Revenue. This Measure is a Measure that is based on values in a Calculated Column 20. (31:15) Add Number Format to Measure so that every time the Measure is used the Number Format will appear 21. (31:53) Learn about Measures that are not dependent on Calculated Columns. See how to create Measure that does not use a Calculated Column as a source for values. UseSUMX function 22. (34:59) and (36:40) Compare creating: 1) Measures based on Calculated Columns and or Measures not based on Calculated 23. (35:39) and (42:40) Discussion of Filter Context and how it helps DAX formulas calculate Quickly on Big Data. Filter Context: When a Conditions or Criteria are selected from the Lookup Tables (Dimension Tables) they flow across the Relationships from the One-Side to the Many-Side to Filter the Fact Table down to a smaller size so that the formulas have to work over a smaller data set 24. (36:52) and (37:52) Discussion of how values created in Calculated Colum are stored in the Data Model Columnar Database and this uses RAM Memory 25. (38:54) When you must use a Calculated Column: When you need to extend the data set and add a column that has Conditions or Criteria that you want to use to Filter the Data Set 26. (40:06) Create Calculated Column For COGS using ROUND and RELATED Functions 27. (41:50) Create Calculated Column for Gross Profit 28. (43:35) Create Calculated Column on fSales Table that will create the Sales Categories “Retail” or “Wholesale” using IF & OR functions. Because it creates Criteria that will use as Filters for our Measures, This DAX formula can only be created using a Calculated Column, not a Measure 29. (46:00) Measure for Total COGS 30. (46:36) Measure for Total Gross Profit 31. (47:20) Measure for Gross Profit Percentage. This is a Ratio of two numbers. This is an example of a Measure that can ONLY be created as a Measure. It cannot be created as a Measure based on a Calculated Column 32. (48:35) Discuss Convention for using Measures in other Measures: USE SQUARE BRACKETS ONLY around the Measure name 33. (49:52) Measure for Average (Mean) Gross Profit 34. (50:20) Measure for Standard Deviation of the Gross Profit 35. (51:09) Measure for Coefficient of Variation of the Gross Profit 36. Convert a set of PNG into Animated GIF with Transparency (install & use ImageMagick)

05:01
Introduction: This is a tutorial on how to convert a batch of PNG files into an animated GIF. The PNG files has to be named accordingly so that they are arranged alphabetically by it's file name. My PNG images are generated from Blender (a 3D animation software) and they are all saved in this format: "00*.png". "00" is the beginning of the file names and ".png" is the ending of the file names. "*" is the unique identifier of the files, my files represent frames from number 20 to 40. "*" is a set of numbers representing 20, 21, 22, 23, 24... 40. Quick steps: 1. Download and install ImageMagick from http://imagemagick.org 2. Open the Command Prompt. 3. Type in "cd" then space. 4.Then continue typing by entering the directory or location of the folders containing your PNG files. For example: "cd C:/Users/Nickson/Desktop/test/topview/" 5. Press 'Enter'. 6. Type in "convert -delay 2 -loop 0 00*.png animated.gif" - "2" is the value of how long it takes to let the next PNG file to come in. - the "0" after "-loop" is to set the file to continue going on forever. Replace that "0" with "1" to run the animation once only, replace with 2 to run twice, 3 to run three times, and 4 to run 4 times and so on. - "00*.png" is the format of your file name (check the 'Introduction' section above for more info) - "animated.gif" is the file name of your product. The name must end with ".gif" - you can modify commands for different options like setting background colour (check 'References' section below) 7. Press 'Enter' to start converting. 8. Go back to Command Prompt and type in "convert -dispose previous animated.gif animated2.gif". - "animated.gif" is the convertedfile. - "animated2.gif" is your product. - (this is to not let your images accumulate) 9. Done. Check the folder containing your PNG files. Compression: Crash Course Computer Science #21

Get your first two months of CuriosityStream free by going to http://curiositystream.com/crashcourse and using the promo code “crashcourse”. So last episode we talked about some basic file formats, but what we didn’t talk about is compression. Often files are way too large to be easily stored on hard drives or transferred over the Internet - the solution, unsurprisingly, is to make them smaller. Today, we’re going to talk about lossless compression, which will give you the exact same thing when reassembled, as well as lossy compression, which uses the limitations of human perception to remove less important data. From listening to music and sharing photos, to talking on the phone and even streaming this video right now the ways we use the Internet and our computing devices just wouldn’t be possible without the help of compression. Nominal dichotomous yes/no data: Krippendorff alpha inter-rater reliability

11:03
How to use a statistical test (Krippendorff alpha) to check the reliability of a variable with nominal/dichotomous data. (Windows PC & SPSS.) Reference: Hayes, A. F., & Krippendorff, K. (2007). Answering the call for a standard reliability measure for coding data. Communication Methods and Measures 1(1), 77-89. Step 1. Search for and download the Kalpha macro. I use the keywords: download, macro, kalpha, spss to find it on the internet. Sometimes you will find the file, which is named “kalpha.sps”. And sometimes you will find a compressed, zipped file called “kalpha.zip”. Either way, just download this to your own computer. Step 2. If it is the uncompressed file “kalpha.sps”, you just leave it as it is. If it is the zip file, which is a compressed folder, you must extract it. Right-click on it, and extract. Remember where you save it because you need it later. Step 3. Start SPSS and open a blank, empty page. Step 4. File, Open, Syntax Step 5. Search your computer, select and open the file “kalpha.sps”. The macro. As you can see, it is just a script. Do not change anything. Just leave it. Step 6. Execute this macro by Run, All. The window that pops up is normal. Just a confirmation that all is OK. You can close it and the script, if you want. Step 7. Open your data. Make sure that you data is correct. Numeric type and nominal level of measure. Step 8. It is time to run the statistical test. Normally, you select a test from a menu. But, since this test is not include inside SPSS, we need to execute it ourselves. File, New, Syntax and type: kalpha judges = obs1 obs2 obs3 obs4 obs5/level = 1/detail = 0/boot = 10000 I will explain what it means, later. Then: Run, All This is how I would write my report: Method The Krippendorff’s alpha test was used (Hayes & Krippendorff, 2007) to estimate the inter-coder reliability, and these alpha (α) values are reported in the results below. Results The results show that the inter-coder reliability was relatively high (α = 0. 7831), i.e. that the five coders did agree. Discussion (Here, you interpret and discuss plausible reasons why you think that the coders did (or did not) agree. It is beyond the scope of this example, where I only focus on the statistical test.) References Hayes, A. F., & Krippendorff, K. (2007). Answering the call for a standard reliability measure for coding data. Communication Methods and Measures 1(1), 77-89.

Liouville's number, the easiest transcendental and its clones (corrected reupload)

20:40
This is a corrected re-upload of a video from a couple of weeks ago. The original version contained one too many shortcut that I really should not have taken. Although only two viewers stumbled across this mess-up it really bothered me, and so here is the corrected version of the video, hopefully free of any more reupload-worthy mistakes. For those of you who already watched the previous version of this video, see whether you can figure out what required fixing :) This video is all about convincing you that Liouville's number is really a transcendental number. I am presenting a proof for this fact that you won't find in any textbook and I am keeping my fingers crossed that people will agree that this is the most accessible proof of the transcendence of any specific number. Also part of this video is a nice way to create a clone of the real numbers using the Liouville's number as a template. This clone is a seriously paradoxical subset of the reals: it consists entirely of transcendental numbers (with one exception), just like the reals it is uncountably infinite AND of it is of measure 0, that is, it is hidden so well within the reals that in a sense it not even there. The measure 0 extra video is at https://youtu.be/4ga58IP1iJU on Mathologer 2. Liouville's original paper is here: Liouville, J. "Sur des classes très-étendues de quantités dont la valeur n'est ni algébrique, ni même réductible à des irrationelles algébriques." J. Math. pures appl. 16, 133-142, 1851. http://sites.mathdoc.fr/JMPA/PDF/JMPA_1851_1_16_A5_0.pdf And if you are interested in having a look at this proof as it also appears in all the textbooks here is one possible reference: http://people.math.sc.edu/filaseta/gradcourses/Math785/Math785Notes5.pdf The proof that I am showing you in this video was inspired by Conway and Guy's take on the subject in their "Book of numbers". In particular, if you are familiar with this book you'll also recognise the 6th degree polynomial that I am using as one of the examples. This week's t-shirt is from here: https://shirt.woot.com/offers/liars-paradox You can download the comments of the original video as a pdf file here: http://www.qedcat.com/misc/comments.pdf. Thank you very much for my friends Marty Ross for his feedback on a draft of this video and Danil Dmitriev for his Russian subtitles. Enjoy! Burkard
