How to reference a book written by multiple authors in APA format

01:53
Hello and welcome to the video reference series presented by termpapergurus.com. In this lecture, we will discuss how to cite a book written by two or more authors in the reference list of a APA format paper. The part after the name of the authors is exactly the same as that of the single authors. That is, the book title is in italics and that is followed by the city the book was published in and the name of the publisher. All of this is found either on the front or back cover of the book or on the first few pages. Also, remember to capitalize only the first word of the book title and proper nouns. NOTHING ELSE! The more confusing part in this reference is of the names of the authors. A key point to remember here is to use the ampersand symbol before the last name of the last author. A key point to remember here is to use the ampersand symbol before the last name of the last author. Students often don't use the symbol and spell out and instead which is penalized by intructors. Also, remember to use a comma after the period you placed after the middle initial. This needs to be done for all the authors except for the last one. And finally, in case you have a book which is authored by six authors you need to use the first six authors' names, and replace the seventh and subsequent authors with "et al.," which means "and others." Like so. Here is an example of a citation. Please remember, to use hanging indents. If you don't know how to use them, we have a separate video on it. Please click the link and it will take you there. That's all for this video I guess, take good care of your academics! Bye! Sample citation from the video Last name, First initial. Middle initial., Last name, First initial. Middle initial., & Last name, First initial. Middle initial. (Year). Book title. Location: Publisher. Mazzeo, J., Druesne, B., Raffeld, P. C., Checketts, K. How to cite a reference book in APA format

02:04
http://www.termpapergurus.com/buy_essays.php lets you buy plagiarism free term papers! Hello and welcome to the video reference series presented by termpapergurus.com. In this lecture, we will discuss how to cite an article presented in a reference book in the format of APA. A reference book is different from a normal course text book in the sense that it does not complete information. As the name suggests, it is aimed for "reference " only. Popular examples of reference books are; encyclopedia (such as Encarta and Britannica), almanacs, dictionaries and handbooks. The citation starts with the last name of the author first, and then followed by the initial of the first name and then the initial of the middle name. The year of the publication is enclosed in brackets. This is followed by the name of the title of the article and the book title. Please remember to use "in" before the name of the reference book and that the title is always italicized. After you have the title down you enter the information of the reference book used. This enclosed in brackets and includes the volume number and the page number your article was in. As usual, you conclude the reference with the name of the city and the name of the publisher. Here is an example of this citation. You can see how the volume information is presented. If you have a hard time remembering this, a sample citation is presented in the video description for you to copy from. That's all for this video I guess, take good care of your academics! Bye! Sample Citation from the video: Last name, First initial. Middle initial. (Year). Article title. In Book title (Volume number, pages). Location:Publisher. Bergmann, P. G. (1993). Relativity. In The new encyclopedia Britannica (Vol. 26, pp. 501- 508). Chicago: Encyclopedia Britannica.
