"Why should I hire you?" - Best Interview Questions and Answers

03:29
WHY SHOULD I HIRE YOU is often the last question you will be asked in an interview. Prepare for it. This is your chance to restate the skills you possess that are most relevant to the position and to summarize your other qualities that make you the perfect person for the job, and that's why they should hire you. Outline your answer before you go in, so that you can answer clearly, concisely, and with confidence. Your answer should be short and to the point. It should reflect your professional background as it relates to current needs and problems of the position. Review the job description and tell how you are the right person for the job by matching up your skill set with each bullet point of the job description. In formulating your answer as to why they should hire you, be sure to address these areas: 1. Determine their goals for the position. This should come up during your research into the company and the position. If possible, talk to others who work for the company. If you are unclear on this point, include it in the questions you ask at the interview and be prepared to incorporate it into your answer. 2. Show you have the skills needed for the job. Based on the goals you have identified in step one, determine how your skills and experience support those goals. If necessary, refer back to your list of skills. Why do you want to work here? Common Interview Questions

03:44
Watch Don show you how to answer "Why Do You Want to Work Here? Why you want to work here iis a great question and is sure to come up during your interview and probably when you least expect it. Lack of preparation for this question could very well cost you the job. One of the most important things is to be honest with your reason for wanting to work there, otherwise it will show. Ask yourself the question first, why do you want to work there? If your answer about working there is that you just need a job and paycheck, then dig a little deeper. If you still can't come up with an honest answer, then read on and hopefully I'll help you think of something. Make sure you have a clear understanding of why you want to work for them and that it's more than "just a job" to you. Do you admire this company? Do you like their products? Do they have a great success story? The key here is what is important to you about this company. The best way to prepare for why you want to work there is to research the company before you attend the interview and learn everything you can, past, present and future. Remember, the idea behind the interview is to find the best and most qualified candidate for the job and one that will best fit in with its culture. At this point, you should describe how your past experience has prepared you for this company. Your answer should demonstrate your familiarity with the company and its products and by doing this the interviewer will recognize you as a serious candidate. Interviewers like to hear praise about their company because it further solidifies the company's reputation in their own mind, but don't overdo it because it will come out sounding fake and cheap. 3 Kinds of Research to Support the Growth of Your Firm

02:12
In this video blog, Lee Frederiksen describes three different types of research that you can use to support the growth of your firm. These are research strategies and questions that you can ask to really help energize how you move forward. For more content just like this, connect with Lee & Hinge: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leefrederiksen/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/LeeFrederiksen LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/153024/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/HingeMarketing Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HingeMarketing Professional Services Executive Forum: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/3828540 TRANSCRIPTION: I’d like to talk about three kinds of research that you can use to support the growth of your firm. These are research strategies and research questions that you can ask to really help energize how you move forward. The first of those is what I call “opportunity research” that’s where you’re looking at different markets or different segments and you’re saying “is the opportunity in this market better or worse than the opportunity in the other market” so we’re not only interested in the growth of the market but also how they view your firm currently. What is the strength of your brand, what kind of barriers are you going to overcome? And how do you compare to the competition? The second kind of research is what we call “brand research” that’s where we look at your firm as a whole and we’re asking the question “what is the perception of your brand?" How is it seen compared to your competitors? How do prospects and referral sources see you? What are your strengths? What are the things that differentiate you? And where do you deliver the real value? The third type is what we call "client research". And there we’re looking at your client. The people that you are working for and we’re asking what are their characteristics? What do your best clients have in common? How do they go about making the decisions for who they are going to work with? These three types of research can be used separately or in combination to really give you a head start. If you’re interested in learning more about this topic, go to hingeuniversity.com/courses and learn more about the range of things you can learn through Hinge university and how they can help you explore these three kinds of research for your firm.

Cosmetics Consumer Brand ID & Brand Loyalty: Research Presentation

07:53
Graham Ervin, Anna Ferguson, Felicia Hylton, and Maggie Jeffries -- all master's students at the University of Georgia -- present "The Beauty of Branding: How Consumer Brand Identification Contributes to Brand Loyalty." This study examined the link between a consumers identification with a brands personality and brand loyalty in the purchase of cosmetic products through the social identification (or identity) theory. Through an online survey, respondents answered questions based on consumer brand loyalty and brand identification indices. Results indicated that brand identification had a strong and statistically significant correlation to brand loyalty; brand identification had a negative correlation with the number of times a brand was used weekly, brand loyalty had a negative correlation to the number of years a brand was used and a negative correlation exists between age and brand loyalty. This research was conducted as a part of Dr. Kaye Sweetser's fall 2009 JRMC 8010 graduate Research Methods class at UGA's Grady College. Their final research report is at http://podcasting.gcsu.edu/4DCGI/Podcasting/UGA/Episodes/20220/26308.pdf

Most of the Korean companies, their goals are all the same: survive the tough competition in the Korean market and go internationally to make their products well-known and increase sales. Unfortunately, only a handful of companies find such success. There may be various reasons, but the biggest problem is they lack the information on the overseas markets they are trying to compete in. Even if you know your opponent and yourself, it is difficult to come out ahead without any basic knowledge and trying to get your product into big markets will be much more challenging. I have narrowed it down to two main reasons why they fail before they even enter the market. They are completely lacking in #MarketResearch and #Marketing. https://www.alc21.com/weeklycolumn/20170915 #ALC21, the best way to predict the future is to create it. #Branding #Brandmaker #AllenChung Business Consulting - Online Sales - Brand Marketing Get in touch with us [email protected] https://www.alc21.com + North America - United States - Canada - Toronto Branding - Business Consulting - Digital Marketing - Online Sales - eCommerce - Amazon - Ebay - Video Production - Web Design - Toronto Maker

Positioning | Branding | Surveys | Market Research | On Target Research

02:52
Positioning | Branding | Surveys | Market Research | On Target Research -- Client Successes. Let me give you an example of one story very quickly. A company came to us and they were looking to market telecom systems to the correctional industry these are payphones for inmate use, unfortunately in this country that's a growing industry, it's a booming industry. So we conducted surveys of the people who signed the purchase orders meaning the wardens and the sheriffs. To find out what it is that they thought was important or valuable about an inmate phone system. We came up with one button, a hot button. They wanted the phone system to be indestructible. Okay so we got a button there. So we went back with a positioning survey and we asked the same public, not necessarily the same respondents, but wardens and sheriffs - What object or activity represented indestructible to them? The answer was a tank. So this company rolled out a whole marketing and PR campaign with the indestructible tank phone with all the graphics to match and this little company went from 0, it was a start up, it went from 0 to 30 million dollars a year in 3 years. They became the largest independent provider who made phone systems in the country. Why? Because we found out what these sheriffs and warden's thought was valuable and then we positioned that, we got the positioning for that from their mind and the company soared. Let me give you another example of how positioning works. Some years ago an ISP, and Internet service provider, came to us to conduct surveys and get a position. This was right as DSL was emerging on to the market. We were all using 56k modems at this time, which was supposed to be hot stuff and these guys had DSL. Their major competitor was Time Warner Cable. Their market was small and medium sized businesses. So we went in and we surveyed the owners of these, small and medium-sized business, to find out what they wanted from an Internet service provider. The answer, no surprise, was "speed". Okay so we have a button. They wanted speed. We went back now and asked this public - what represents speed to you? The answer, and this was in the South Eastern part of United States, the answer was a Daytona racing car. So our suggestion to this company was to now build a campaign around their service being this Daytona racing car blowing away the Road Runner, at the time the Time Warner Cables icon was the Road Runner. So along comes this Daytona racing car and the little Road Runner is on the side of the road puffing for breath, which then positioned them as faster then Time Warner Cable. The Guild Research Group | Case Studies on Asking the Right Questions & Market Research

03:21
The Guild Research Group Case Studies on Asking the Right Questions and Using Market Research to Increase Sales http://guildresearchgroup.com/case-studies/ One of the items I speak quite frequently about is the importance of asking the right questions. In the 1980s, I was working with the owner of a Mercury Car Dealership who wasn't doing very well due to the poor reputation of Mercurys. When I spoke with the owner, I asked what it was specifically that he was trying to achieve. He replied that he wanted to beat the pants off the Cadillac Dealership across the road. http://guildresearchgroup.com/case-studies/ The biggest problem was that the 'brand' of Mercury was far inferior to the brand of Cadillac, so we had to ask ourselves the following question: How do we attract in customers who don't really care about the brand? After considerable market research, we found that the group that cared least about brand when making a purchasing decision was women. So what did women care about when it came to buying cars? http://guildresearchgroup.com/case-studies/ They cared about how they were treated and were concerned about being taken advantage of by ruthless car dealerships. Therefore, to assist Mercury with competing against Cadillac, we build a marketing and advertising campaign around how much better Mercury treated its customers than Cadillac. Interestingly enough, we were able to dramatically increase his sales. How can the ability to ask the right questions and detailed market research assist you in increasing your sales? http://guildresearchgroup.com/case-studies/ About Dr. Will Guild: Since 1982, Dr. Guild has conducted hundreds of research projects for both the private and public sectors. He has extensive experience conducting both quantitative and qualitative research using surveys, focus groups and numerous other tools. His work has been used to devise strategies for successful referenda and other conflicts involving companies and interest groups. Market Research | Surveys | Branding | Positioning | On Target Research

02:41
Market Research | Surveys | Branding | Positioning | On Target Research - How your business can benefit! The services that we provide depend very much on what the client needs and wants. For example if a client is launching a new product, we'll do first - competitor research then competitor intelligence and see who else is in the field and how are they marketing and if they have a position. Also we want to know if there is already a 900 pound gorilla in the market place or not. Once we do that we then do a series of surveys to find out what this public needs and wants or considers valuable about the clients product or service. Very often a management thinks they know and maybe they do, in some cases they do. But often management has the idea that the public will want their product because of "X". But when we survey the public they are not interested in "X" they like it because of "Y". We do those surveys to find what we call buttons. The term hot button has kind of been around the sales and marketing field for a long time. But to us a button is a technical word. It means the answer given the most number of times to a survey question. So if I ask 100 people who eat out at restaurants, "What is the most important factor when choosing a restaurant to dine out at?" And 70 of them say, "The ambience!" Then I have got a button, a point of agreement among that public about that product or service. And if we put ambience on a direct marketing piece or a website, an email, or public relations stories that go in the press, they are going to get a higher response. We follow that then with positioning surveys. Positioning is a critical aspect of any marketing. It is basically making something unfamiliar, familiar by tying it to something that is already in the mind. For example, the Avis rent a car company was losing money 13 years in a row. 13 years running and when they came out and said, "We are No. 2, we try harder!" they instantly went into profitability. Why? Because Hertz had been advertising that they were No.1. Avis' ad campaign tied their brand to something that was already in the mind. So our positioning surveys are unique, they are proprietary. We find out what is in the publics mind and then conduct very specific surveys in order to find a position for the product or service. Branding | Surveys | Positioning | Market Research | On Target Research

02:32
Branding | Surveys | Positioning | Market Research | On Target Research - What makes us unique. Well there are a couple of things that make us unique about what we do. One is the focus on positioning and how important that aspect of marketing is. Few people understand actually what positioning is and are able to tie a product or service to something that their prospects already consider cool, or good, or valuable, or worth paying for. So I speak on positioning around the world. I have written articles on it. Even the godfather of positioning Al Ries, who was the co-author of the great book of positioning -- "The battle for your mind", has referred to our marketing newsletter on positioning as brilliant. So I take that as high compliment. So one, we specialize on positioning. And positioning is what makes you unique. We don't guess at it. We go in to the minds of the prospects to find out how to position the client's product or service. Very very few market research companies do this or even know how to do this, so that is unique. Secondly, we can reach hard to reach publics. We can survey hard to reach publics. We have surveyed the marketing directors of the top oil companies in the world, the top 7 oil companies. We have surveyed judges. We have surveyed merger and acquisition attorneys. We have surveyed orthopedic surgeons. These are not easy publics or audiences to get through to. There is not an industry sector that I can think of where we haven't conducted, branding, positioning market research and surveys. We have done work in entertainment, in health care, in retail, in wholesale, and manufacturing. We have done a lot in technology, new products in technology, software and hardware. We have done a great deal of market research in hospitality. We have done work in the legal profession in the accounting profession, in the finance profession, financial services. Insurance companies, banks. We use experienced interviewers who have been doing this for years. Most market research or survey companies have a bunch of minimum wage kids with headsets who call people. They asked closed ended questions like: Blue? Grey? Yellow? Do you like? Yes / No. This is a key difference. The surveys we do are in depth and they get into what the respondent really thinks about the product or service. If you are wanting to positioning yourself as the market leader then surveys and positioning are essential to set you apart from your competitors and to tap into the hearts and minds of your customers so they just keep handling over money for your products and services. Email Tony on [email protected] for more information on how to get started today. Which syndicated services discussed in the book can provide useful information? The director of marketing for Chrysler is interested in knowing the psychological characteristics of the yuppies to configure the Dodge Viper program. You have been presented with the responses from the survey outlined above. Analyze the data according to the following guidelines: 1. Frequency distribution: Ensure that each variable is appropriate for analysis by running a frequency distribution for each variable. 2. Regression: Using a stepwise regression analysis, locate those variables that best explain the criterion variable. Evaluate the strength of the model and assess the impact of each variable included on the criterion variable. 3. Factor analysis: Determine the underlying psychological factors that characterize the respondents by means of factor analysis of all 30 independent variables. Use principle component extraction with varimax rotation for ease of interpretation. Save the factor scores and then regress them on the criterion variable, forcing all predictor variables to be included in the analysis. Evaluate the strength of this model and compare it with the initial regression. Use the factor scores to cluster the respondents into three groups. Discuss the significance of the groups based on the underlying factors. Repeat this cluster analysis for four groups. 4. Cluster analysis: Cluster the respondents on the original variables into three and four clusters. Which is a better model? Compare these cluster results with the cluster results on the factor scores? Which is easier to interpret, and which explain the data better. Based on the analysis, prepare a report to management explaining the yuppie Consumer and offering recommendation on the design of the Dodge Viper. Your recommendations should aid Daimler Chrysler in achieving what they seek a new image for the Viper that is attractive to the yuppie market and that helps them outperform the competition in the performance car market. 1. Surveys | Branding | Positioning | Market Research | On Target Research

01:21
Surveys | Branding | Positioning | Market Research - How I got started, by Bruce Wiseman, On Target Research. Many years ago I was a banker in San Francisco. I was an up and coming executive if I can say so and the headquarters' office asked me to do some market research for a new branch that the bank was going to open up in the San Francisco bay area, so I engaged in a bunch of market research there, which I found really interesting. Shortly there after I was doing some financial consulting and I was asked to do some surveys for a major book publisher. I just got more excited about this technology of finding out what people really need and want and in that case it was about a book. When you find exactly what your prospects or your customers want and I mean actually find it in their own words and then use that in a marketing or public relations campaign, the sales start to sore. They certainly increase much more than if you hadn't asked your public. I found this fascinating, kind of simple marketing piece of information, but I found it fascinating. So when I moved to Los Angeles I started a company, 1987, and we have been doing it ever since. Email Tony on [email protected] for more information on how to get started today.
