How Hollywood Does It - Learn The Film History & Techniques of Early Cinema (F2710)

02:27
How Hollywood Does It is a look at the history, techniques, movements and people who create the magic of motion pictures. This program looks at the very birth of cinema in the late 1800's through the talkies in 1928. It is a multi-part look at the history, techniques, movements and people who created the magic that we call motion pictures. The dawn of the moving image began early in the 19th century with the discovery that a surface treated with a photo-sensitive emulsion would reveal an image when exposed to light. These first photos, or tintypes, were crude forms of photography improved upon by the creation of more flexible photo-sensitive material, or film, which resulted in better still photographic images. Photographic images whose subjects were photographed in slightly different positions could be flipped in rapid succession to create the illusion of subjects in motion. George Eastman, of Eastman-Kodak fame, created a celluloid film stock that could be wound on a reel, resulting in the first actual example of moving images on film. Experiments in the 1890s by W.K.L. Dickson and William Heise, under the auspices of the Thomas Edison Company, resulted in the invention of the Kinetograph, a vertical feed camera which exposed film and had a row of sprockets on each side of the celluloid strip, much like our conventional 35 mm film today. Featured are early films from Thomas Edison, The Lumiere Brothers and George Melies. Hosted by Jeffrey Hill and Mark A. Graves - Jeffrey Hill is an associate professor at Morehead State University, Department of Communication, Media and Leadership Studies. Dr. Mark Graves is an associate professor of English. SHAZAM! - Official Teaser Trailer [HD]

02:54
SHAZAM! - Only in theaters April 2019 ----- http://ShazamMovie.com https://www.facebook.com/ShazamMovie/ https://twitter.com/ShazamMovie/ https://www.instagram.com/ShazamMovie/ ---- David F. Sandberg (“Annabelle: Creation”) directs New Line Cinema’s “Shazam!,” the origin story that stars Zachary Levi (TV’s “Chuck”) as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Asher Angel (TV’s “Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong (the “Kingsman” movies) in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Peter Safran (upcoming “Aquaman,” “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” films) serves as the film’s producer. We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong). “Shazam!” also stars Jack Dylan Grazer (“IT”) as Billy’s best friend and ultimate superhero enthusiast, Freddy, part of the foster family that includes Mary, played by Grace Fulton (“Annabelle: Creation”); Darla, played by Faithe Herman (TV’s “This is Us”); Eugene, played by Ian Chen (TV’s “Fresh Off the Boat”); and Pedro, played by Jovan Armand (TV’s “Hawaii Five-O”). Cooper Andrews (TV’s “The Walking Dead”) and Marta Milans (TV’s “Killer Women”) play foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez, with Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond”) as the Wizard. Firmly set in the DC universe but with his own distinctly fun, family-centric tone, the screenplay is by Henry Gayden, story by Gayden and Darren Lemke. Shazam was created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck. Christopher Godsick, Jeffrey Chernov, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia serve as executive producers. Sandberg’s creative team includes his “Annabelle: Creation” director of photography Maxime Alexandre, production designer Jennifer Spence, editor Michel Aller and costume designer Leah Butler. A New Line Cinema production, “Shazam!” is set for release on April 5, 2019. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Douglas Fairbanks in "Early Hollywood Mentality!"

01:33
Now I would normally never upload a video that is not mine but here is an exception: This is a very small scene from one of the last movie starring the great Douglas Fairbanks, "Mr. Robinson Crusoe". In this scene, "Doug" saves a young savage woman and when she regains conscience, he shows her his pad. Now remember that the girl is seeing "Doug" and his treehouse for the first time. Just watch what she does when she gets in the kitchen! That is some great Hollywood mentality right there for you, strong liberal and free women of this world! Keep in mind I'm just being cynical, I don't approuve of this kind of mentality and I LOVE Douglas Fairbanks, it's just for fun... (The movie is now public domain no copyright notice is necessary. The movie is called "Mr. Robinson Crusoe" and is from 1932)

There was a time when lots of violence, adultery, prostitution and generally saucy (read: sexy)behavior was common in the movies. No- NOT today's films. And NOT the films after July of 1934 up until the mid to late 50s. It is now known as the "Pre-Code" era of Hollywood and skin, sin and murder sold tickets like never before. But then came "The Hollywood Production Code". Find out more here. PART 1 of 2 shows on this topic.

ELLIOTT MURPHY - Hollywood - The original - A early movie by Falke58.wmv

04:34
Meet again Elliott Murphy in the song "Hollywood". This is the original recording from Murphys second album "Lost Generation" from 1975. When Elliott Murphy´s debut album Aquashow" was released in 1973 also Bruce Springsteen, Elliotts best friend from New Jersey makes his debut with "Greetings from Asbury Park". Both born in 1949, Murphy in Long Island, N.Y. The press write very positive words for both debuts, but they were all agree in that Elliott Murphy should be the man who sells the most records. But all new the history and the music press was wrong. I love them both but in my opinion is Elliott a stronger songwriter with a great lyrics who complete his songs in a very good way. 4th of may I will arrange my second concert with ELLIOTT MURPHY, last years sucess with a soloconcert follows up with a duoconcert together with his excellent guitarrist, Olivier Durand. The concert will be at Stadsteatern (Town Theatre) in my hometown of Falkenberg, Sweden. Tickets avaible at www.Ticnet.se. Be my guest!!! This video is a re-uploading from spring of 2009 and I was doing it as a celebration video to Elliotts 60 years birthday 16th of march. All The Best Michael Lindberg/Falke58 for PhilDeefersite

Age Of Avengers: The Real Reason Superhero Movies Took Over Hollywood

21:10
How did superhero movies evolve to dominate the box office? Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/ho3Hg6 Superhero movies are, without any shadow of a doubt, the most popular thing in Hollywood today - and that's certainly not something that's just happened overnight. They've existed for several decades, but they have only reached their current levels of popularity in this new millennium. In this documentary, we'll be taking a take a look at the path superhero movies have taken to reach their current status of popularity. We'll go all the way back to 1920, when the silent movie The Mark of Zorro became the first superhero movie of note. We'll look at the early Marvel and DC movies in the 1940s and 1950s. We'll look at Christopher Reeve's Superman in 1978, which was the first superhero movie in the mould of those we moved today. And we'll look at how all of that impacted the more modern movies, which started with the likes of Blade, X-Men and Spider-Man in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Since then, there have been more offbeat examples like superhero parodies, animated family superhero movies - and, of course, the blockbusters in the MCU, DCEU and X-Men movie franchises. We'll also look at what makes a good superhero movie and what could happen in the superhero movie genre going forward - because there's still a heck of a lot of untouched material to tap into! We hope you enjoy the video! Please leave a comment letting us know what you thought about it. Burt Lancaster: Daring To Reach (Hollywood Biography) | Classic Movie Star Biopic

Subscribe for more Hollywood biographies and stories! http://bit.ly/HollywoodCollectionSub Burt Lancaster went from street-wise tough to art-collector liberal-activist, from circus-acrobat hunk to Academy Award winner. Born November 2, 1913, Burton Stephen Lancaster, later “Burt Lancaster” was one of five children of a New York City postal worker. Burt recalled family life as warm and mutually supportive. At the Union Settlement House, he and boyhood friend Nick Cravat formed an acrobatic team. By eighteen, Burt was 6’2″ and blessed with the athletic physique and dynamic good looks that helped make him famous. A basketball scholarship was not enough to keep him in NYU beyond his sophomore year. That’s when he and the 5’2″ Cravat joined a circus, earning $3 weekly between them. A stint in the Army introduced Burt to acting and led him to Hollywood where his first release, The Killers (1946), propelled him to stardom at age 32. He took control of his own career and seldom faltered. He was married three times and had five children. Upon his death in 1994, four-time Academy Award-nominated Burt Lancaster was acknowledged as one of the greatest stars in the Hollywood firmament. Lancaster’s films include Westerns, Costume Epics and serious Contemporary Dramas. There were the swashbucklers like The Crimson Pirate (1952), and also more risky roles, like the aging alcoholic in Come Back Little Sheba (1952).

Tulsa (original title), Action, Drama, Romance, Full Western Movie, Full Length Cowboy Film, English. Tulsa is a 1949 American Technicolor Western action film directed by Stuart Heisler and starring Susan Hayward and Robert Preston, and featured Lloyd Gough, Chill Wills (as the narrator), and Ed Begley in one of his earliest film roles, billed as Edward Begley. The film's plot revolved around greed, conservation, and romance. It was nominated for an Oscar for its special effects in 1950. In Tulsa, when a rancher dies during a feud with a major oil company, his daughter, driven by revenge, starts digging for oil herself. Director: Stuart Heisler Writers: Frank S. Nugent (screenplay) (as Frank Nugent), Curtis Kenyon (screenplay) Stars: Susan Hayward, Robert Preston, Pedro Armendáriz Runtime: 12 | 1h 30min PLOT: The plot revolved around the Tulsa, Oklahoma oil boom of the 1920s and detailed how obsession with accumulating wealth and power can tend to corrupt moral character. The story begins with the death of rancher Nelse Lansing, who is killed by an oil well blowout while visiting a well operated by Tanner Petroleum to report that pollution from the oil production has killed some of his cattle. The plot thickens as Lansing's daughter, Cherokee, acquires drilling rights and meets Brad Brady, a geologist who wants the oil drillers to limit their drilling in order to minimize oil field depletion and to preserve the area's grasslands. A fire in a derrick tailing pool started by Jim Redbird, a Cherokee who had been made a rich owner of oil land through crooked dealings of oilmen, and who later renounces his holdings, results in an extravagant fire scene for which the movie got its Oscar nomination. In its aftermath, in recognition of the destruction caused by improper oil drilling, and how money and power can corrupt even those who love the land, the oil drillers and the geologist learn to work together. #freemovies #moviesonline #watchfree COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed.
