Designer Jazz Kuipers expressed her unique fashion vision in a hyper masculine, empowering and supernatural collection. She brought her imaginative universe 'Havoc' alive with an imposing runway show. But this hasn't satisfied her frustration with the lack of savage manliness in our current Zeitgeist. Her new mission is to enable everyone to get lost in a world of brute strength, single-minded dedication and inhuman powers in the form of a film. We formed a team of 20 creatives from various disciplines who are all extremely passionate about 'Havoc' and very eager to transform this into an experience. The only thing that holds us back are the production costs.
Jazz Kuipers graduated cum laude with 'Havoc' in 2013 from Amfi -- Amsterdam Fashion Institute. Her collection got selected for the prestige 'Lichting' by G-star award. As a result she showed at Amsterdam Fashion week alongside the most gifted graduates of her year.
The fashion collection 'Havoc' is inspired by video games like Halo, comic characters like Bane and every man's neglected superhero childhood dream. As a reaction to the feminization of men's wear, Jazz created hybrids of futuristic technique and uncultivated, masculine instinct.
'Havoc; the Short Film' is a way for Jazz to visualise the story behind her collection and let her archetypes fulfil the quest where she designed them for. This won't just be a moving fashion shoot, but a fusion between the arts of fashion and film. Our team exists out of students from Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, Amsterdam Fashion Institute and Sint Lucas, who have brought their creative minds together to combine the best of both worlds.
In order to introduce as many people as possible to the world of 'Havoc' and celebrate hyper masculinity in style, the film will première with an event. Alongside the viewing, we will exhibit our personal interpretation of 'Havoc' in whatever artistic medium we like to express ourselves in. So you can expect visual artists, concept developers, (screenplay) writers and any more to tell the story of 'Havoc' in their own way.
If you wish to contribute to the creation of 'Havoc; the Short Film' you can make a donation at voordekunst.nl/vdk/project/view/1874-havoc-the-short-film to help us bring this incredible vision alive!
We hope to see you all at the event!
