http://www.floorwarm.net/ ABOUT US Since its establishment in 2033, Daewoo Enertec has aimed at developing an alternative energy source heating system based on the Korean Traditional Ondol Heating System. WHAT IS THE ONDOL SYSTEM Korean Traditional Ondol Heating system used hot air coming from burning wood under the floor. Taking this idea, modern ondol systems use electricity to create an electric floor heating system that can reduces your oil and gas expenses and prevents global warming by not generating carbon dioxide. The comfort and warmth produced by this system has had worldwide appeal, becoming quite popular throughout the world. OUR PRODUCTS Our different ondol heating systems offer the affordable luxury of warm floors at a reduced utility cost and maximized energy efficiency. - Electric Heating hot Water X-L Pipe: Innovative heating system that uses heat and increased pressure generated by heating the sealed X-L pipe without boiler and water circulation motor which pumps water circulated in the pipe. - Heating cable: Heating system that utilizes heat conduction and radiant heat for indoor climate control. Heat can be provided by electric cables instead of a boiler or water circulation motor. Easy installation. - Far Infrared Rays Film Heating System: Enerpia infrared rays heating film is produced by an accurate printing technology that coats carbon on PET film to radiate heat. The film is so strong it requires the use of scissors to be cut, and the material has been heat-treated for temperatures over 150 degrees. This film is ideal for rapid heating as it requires only a short period of time to heat the floor and room. - Underfloor Heating Cable Mat: The cable mat floor heating system has a construction and installation method that does not require any special tools and is quickly stuck to a clean subfloor using the attached adhesive strips. The installation is very simple, making it an ideal DYI or Trade Kit without requirements or experience for planning their layouts. - Snow Melting Cable: An automatic snow removing and anti-freezing system for winter. This cutting-edge snow and ice removing device reduces the damage of building and guarantees the safety of people, vehicles and buildings. Ondol

Ondol -------- An ondol, also called gudeul, in Korean traditional architecture, is underfloor heating which uses direct heat transfer from wood smoke to the underside of a thick masonry floor. In modern usage it refers to any type of underfloor heating, or a hotel or sleeping room in Korean (as opposed to Western) style. The main components of the traditional ondol are a firebox or stove (agungi; 아궁이) accessible from an adjoining (typically kitchen or master bedroom) room, a raised masonry floor underlain by horizontal smoke passages, and a vertical, freestanding chimney on the opposite exterior providing a draft. The heated floor is supported by stone piers or baffles to distribute the smoke, covered by stone slabs, clay and an impervious layer such as oiled paper. The earliest use of ondol has been found at an archaeological site in Korea. A Bronze Age archaeological find, circa BCE 1000, shows a clear vestige of Gudeul in the Excavated Dwelling unearthed at the archaeological site. Early ondols began as gudeul that contained the furnace/cooking stove in the building. With the evolution of the structure, the furnace was moved entirely outdoors to prevent overheating in the summer and reduce indoor smoke. As well, entire rooms would be built on the furnace flue to create ondol floored rooms. The term gudeul has been colloquially spoken for over two thousand years, and called by many alternate names (janggaeng (장갱 / 長坑), hwagaeng (화갱 / 火坑), nandol (난돌 / 暖突), yeondol (연돌 / 烟突)); the term ondol was introduced around the end of 19th century. According to a Korean folkloric historian Son Jintae (1900), gudeul has been originated from guun-dol, which means "heated stone", and its pronunciation has undergone some change from gudol or gudul to finally take the form of gudeul. Ondol was first written in Hanja by modern-day writers. Ondol had traditionally been used as a living space for sitting, eating, sleeping and pastimes in most Korean homes before the 1960s. Unlike the western style, koreans are accustomed to sitting on the floor, sleeping on the floor, and working and eating at low tables instead of raised tables with chairs. The furnace burned mainly rice paddy straws, agricultural crop waste, biomass or any kind of dried firewood. For short-term cooking, rice paddy straws or crop waste was preferred, while long hours of cooking and floor heating needed longer-burning firewood. Unlike modern-day water heaters, the fuel burning was either sporadically or regularly done (two to five times a day), dependent on frequency of cooking and seasonal weather conditions. With the traditional ondol heating, floor spots closer to the furnace were normally warm enough with warmer spots reserved for elders and honored guests. Ondol had problems such as carbon monoxide poisoning resulting from burning coal briquette, and environmental pollution. For these reasons, other technology heats modern Korean homes. Ondol The Korean traditional floor heating system "ondol" dates back to the Gogureo era. It originated in cold northern regions and spread to all southern areas during the Joseon period. It still remains the indispensable part of Koreans' everyday lives. That's why many idioms in Korean are about the heated floor "ondol" or "gudeuljang." The narrator of the show is a young man who is a fan of "ondol." He tells about his nostalgia for "ondol" and its role in his mother's love for him. The narrator also introduces the structure of "ondol" and how fire in a fireplace can heat the entire house.

Traditional Korean House: Hanok(한옥)

10:56
Traditional Korean house is called Hanok(한옥). Not only Hanok itself is very beautiful and artistic, but living in Hanok means a lot of things. First, you can be one with nature. Hanok doesn't destroy neighborhood environment; in addition, it is designed to fully enjoy the nature. Second, you can be healthy. When you live in Hanok, you don't need harmful air conditioner or heater. Hanok makes the most of natural wind, and its Ondol(온돌; Korean floor heating system) system warms your cozy place. Third, Hanok is extremely convenient. Let me give you an example. If you want to widen your place for any reason, just lift the doors. You can change Hanok's each small room into one wide place. I hope to live in a Hanok someday. :( Let's enjoy the beautiful Hanoks through this video~ XD

Sleeping on a Heated Floor in a Traditional Korean House

04:01
South Korea's Jeonju Hanok Village is a popular tourist attraction, and for good reason. It's filled with over 800 traditional Korean houses called hanoks. We booked a couple nights at one that has been converted to a guesthouse. This meant sleeping on a mat on the floor. Luckily, the houses use a heating technique called ondol, which heats the home through the floor. A fire is burned on one side of the home and the smoke travels under the entire structure and out the other side. This warms up the stone floors and keeps the house nice and toasty. Now only if they can do something about the extremely hard sleeping surface. For more videos please subscribe, and also be sure to visit my website where I give information about off the tourist trail locations, and probably bitch about some on the tourist trail spots. http://itchyfeetonthecheap.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \\ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/2e8BCZv \\ Website: http://itchyfeetonthecheap.com/ \\ Email: [email protected] \\ Instagram: http://instagram.com/itchyfeetonthecheap \\ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itchyfeetonthecheap \\ Twitter: https://twitter.com/itchyfeetcheap ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Stuff I'm forced to include-- Comfortable Mystery 3 - Film Noire by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100536 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ Childrens Theme - Madness Paranoia by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100296 Artist: http://incompetech.com/

Korean traditional Style Caldron

01:10
I met this heating caldron scenery while walking through the road in PyeongChang. This kind of caldrons are actually used by some Korean rural household kitchen tools. major cooking foodstuffs are the rices. To cook Korean traditional rice meals, it requires very strong fires and should hold high temperature for a long time. so this kind of caldron was widely used from ancient koreans. as the modern periods come, Koreans invented an electronic high pressure rice cooking pot. koreans replaced this ancient caldron into the electronic high pressure rice cooking pot. it's widely sold in Korean society and the households. Cooking Korean traditional rice meals requires special cooking pot and it has been replaced by electronic one today.

Snowy Day in Seoul at Pencil Hostel Seoul Station, Seoul, South Korea.

00:56
Seoul, South Korea 2015 I seldom to have the opportunity to travel abroad so when I do, I will try to find a place to stay according to budget, location, amenities offered such as car park, playground or pool to name a few. Besides that having a kitchenette or washing machine in the hotel will be plus point with a nice budget. Here I just share with you with some of the selective hotels which I think is good when I travel to these countries. Pencil Hostel Seoul Station, Seoul, South Korea This hostel is located at Yongsan-gu near SookMyeong Women University Station and a walking distance to Namyeong Station. If you choose to walk from Seoul Station then it may take 15 minutes, it only takes about 5 minutes if you stop at SookMyeong Women Univ Station .It's a good location from here to other attractions available in Seoul. It’s quiet and the room which we booked was fully equipped with kitchenette and washing machine with a underfloor heating system to keep warm from the cold winter. The staffs are friendly are helpful to guide us where we want to go and there are maps and brochures provided in the hostel. However, this hostel does not have an elevator so if you have a big luggage, it may not be your option, somehow we managed to get all our luggage up the stairs where our room was which was at level 2/3.It was a cozy room with traditional Korean Ondol style and the best was to see the view of the falling snow from the window. It also comes with a flat-screen TV, a dressing table, and a small, round dining table. The hostel may not be luxury ones or comes with luxury designs like other accommodation but it’s really comfortable ,clean and warm during the winter. There are shops, boutiques, and restaurants nearby as well. To locate the hostel, once you see MISSHA, the famous Korean cosmetic shop, there is where the hostel is. Initially, it took a while to find the place but after we are used to it, it’s easier to go about the surroundings and find the hostel. So have you traveled to South Korea lately? Hope this little sharing helps. Pencil Hostel Seoul Station 37-23, Cheongpa-ro 47-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea Booking.com http://www.booking.com/hotel/kr/seoul-station-pencil-hostel.html?aid=1166817&no_rooms=1&group_adults=1 Agoda https://www.agoda.com/partners/partnersearch.aspx?cid=1754345&pcs=1&hid=561879 It was in early December in 2015 that it started to snow in the morning and this video was taken from Seoul Station Pencil Hostel where we stayed. Exporting the heat film with the application of Ondol culture

02:31
[Anchor] As the weather gets colder, the burden on the heating bill gets heavier too. Since last October tenth, the average utility bill saw an increase by five point three percent and accordingly, a price hike in major heating devices is also expected. Along with this, a new heating method has been in the spotlight lately, due to its low cost and high efficiency. Here's the report. [Reporter] Yonsei Central Baptist Church, one of the larger churches located in Guro, controls the indoor temperature through a heating film. The heating film can save at least sixty percent of costs compared to the oil-fired boiler through the use of electricity. Also, it can be partially operated with a center controller to prevent unnecessary heat loss. [Interview - Seong-sup Lee, the Section Chief of the Disaster Control Room of the Yonsei Central Baptist Church] ~ First, we can apply cooling and heating systems partially on the places we want. The best part of this is that we can prevent energy losses by applying the system only for the places we want to use it on. Also, in terms of construction, we can save a lot in terms of the initial investment. The heating film produces heat by making the electricity flow on the carbon spread on the film. It is highly efficient since the far-infrared is spreading in forms of radiation. Revax is the company which produces the heat film most actively in Korea. For safety and durability, the company uses insulating and flame resisting materials and also develops devices especially for that. As a result, Revax exports the heat film to Turkey, China and Russia, thus earning over one million dollars annually. With the application of the Ondol culture, Korea's traditional heating system, the company has developed a heat film for the floor and has exported it overseas. [Interview - Ho-seop Kim, CEO of Rexva] ~ The existing technologies from Israel, Sweden, Czech Republic and Germany were mainly for ceiling heat. Thus, the durability of the products became a niche market. Our company has strengthened the durability and added the amount of carbon so as to increase the emission of infrared-light. With rising oil prices and problems caused by nuclear power generation, the future of the heat film market seems bright. Industry professional news channel itsTV http://www.itstv.net
