The Best Triceps Exercise for Mass (WINNER!)

The best triceps exercise for mass is one that must meet quite a few criteria, most of all, be the most effective for helping you to add size to your triceps. The three exercises going head to head for the title of the winner of this iron face off are the lying triceps extension, triceps pushdown and the close grip bench press. We can start with the classic triceps pushdown exercise. This one can be done with either a rope or a straight bar. While it does allow you to load a lot of weight to the exercise for a good progressive overload option and it does take it easy on your elbow joints, it does have its drawbacks. First, it is a bit restrictive in terms of the versatility of the move. You can only do this with a cable machine or a band and doing it with the latter will alter the strength curve and is not optimal. Beyond that, the pushdown at no point in the range of motion places your arm up over your head to put your triceps long head on stretch. If you want to build your triceps as big as possible you need to appreciate the importance of developing the long head since it accounts for almost two thirds of the size of the triceps muscle. Finally, when done in a static position, the pushdown is limited in its ability to train your triceps throughout the strength curve with peak tension. Moving on, the close grip bench press is a better option because it has the versatility of allowing you to perform it with either dumbbells or a barbell (whichever you have access to). It also allows you to load up a lot of weights and progressively overload your triceps like the pushdown. The problem comes in when you consider that much of this tension is often off loaded to the chest and shoulders rather than the triceps. This is especially true if you do not lock out the elbows on every rep since this is where the tricep muscles work the most during this exercise. Once again, the arms never get to a position above the head during this close grip bench press limiting the amount of stretch that gets applied to the long head of the triceps and ultimately the amount of growth that you will see from this compared to other moves. This leads to the winner of this iron face off, the lying triceps extension. The versatility of the exercise is there since you can once again do this with either dumbbells or a barbell or even an ez curl bar. This movement is easier on the elbow joints since, if done properly, you finish with your arms angled back from vertical which places tension on the working muscle (the triceps) rather than a compressive force on the elbow joint. What is most crucial however is that fact that the lying dumbbell or barbell extension allows you to get a great stretch on the long head of the triceps in the bottom of each rep. You can even safely exaggerate the stretch a bit by reaching your arms back a bit more at the bottom and get the stretch reflex activation that can lead to a more powerful triceps contraction. Finally, peak tension occurs with peak contraction of the exercise making it an all around arm exercise powerhouse. If your main goal is to burn fat, many traditional exercises and training styles may not be the best route for you. Typically when I'm at the gym and I look around I see a bunch of people doing exercises that don't really match up with their goals. If you're trying to get some bigger biceps you shouldn't be on the eliptical doing hours of cardio and conversely if you're trying to lose some weight and burn some belly fat you shouldn't be smashing out set after set of bicep curls. Exercises and training styles are like tools and before you just assume that watching one or two rocky movies is all the knowledge you need on exercising let's make sure that you've chosen the right tool for the job or I should for your goal. If your goal is to lose belly fat I hate to break it to you, but there is no exercise that can directly target the fat on your belly, but there are plenty of exercise methods that can indirectly burn the fat from your belly, and in this video I'll be going over ten of these methods....These training methods will help you burn more fat during & after your workout. Let's start with the very first one & that's peripheral heart action training. This is my favorite way to do all my weight training workouts, and I highly suggest that if you're trying to lose some belly fat you incorporate this style of training right away. In general your workouts for the week should be a mixture of some more aerobic & some more anaerobic workouts, meaning some of them will be geared more towards lifting heavy weights & others should be geared towards improving your cardiovascular function. But what you'll notice is that during your heavy weight training days, you wind up taking longer breaks & not breathing quite as heavy. Sometimes after some weight training workouts besides the soreness that you might feel in your muscles you may not feel like you worked out at all. So that's where peripheral heart action training comes into play. It helps incorporate an element of cardio into your weight training workout without you having to sacrifice the amount of weight your lifting. So you won't get weaker, but you'll be able to burn much more calories & accomplish much more in a shorter period of time. The best way to do this is by combining an upper body & a lower body movement into one set. For example you can combine a bench press with a squat. So you would do six to eight reps on the bench press & then right away with no break you would do squats for six to eight reps. You would perform both of these exercises with a heavy weight load & you would only take a break after completing both of them. With peripheral heart action training what you're doing is taking the blood that your heart would normally just have to pump to your chest & arms if you were just doing bench press by itself & what your doing is your forcing your body to pull & pump all that blood back down to your legs right after your set of bench without any break or recovery. This makes your heart work much harder allowing you to get your heart rate & breathing rate higher & this will burn more calories & fat in the process. Now let's say that you don't want to work legs & upper body in the same day you want to focus on each on separate days. Well the good news is that peripheral heart action training doesn't only work only if you combine an upper & a lower body movement. It'll also work if you combine two movements that work opposing muscle groups. For example if you combine chest & back movements together with no break. Or if you do quad & hamstring movements together with no break your heart will still have to work much harder to push the blood from the anterior part of your body to the posterior part of your body. So peripheral heart action training try it out. The second exercise style that can help you burn a lot more belly fat is known as cardio acceleration training. We actually have a whole hour long class at our gyms dedicated to this type of training because it's so effective. Once again it involves super setting two exercises. Except this time instead of doing two weight training exercises back to back we're combining a weight training exercise with a cardio exercise with no break. So an example of this would be to perform a set of barbell squats with heavy weight for let's say six to ten reps & then immediately with no break once you rack the bar you go right into high knees for thirty to forty five seconds. Then take a break & repeat for three to four sets

In finance, an option is a contract which gives the buyer (the owner or holder of the option) the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an underlying asset or instrument at a specific strike price on a specified date, depending on the form of the option. The strike price may be set by reference to the spot price (market price) of the underlying security or commodity on the day an option is taken out, or it may be fixed at a discount in a premium. The seller has the corresponding obligation to fulfill the transaction—to sell or buy—if the buyer (owner) "exercises" the option. An option that conveys to the owner the right to buy at a specific price is referred to as a call; an option that conveys the right of the owner to sell at a specific price is referred to as a put. Both are commonly used in and by the old traded, but the call option is more frequently discussed. The seller may grant an option to a buyer as part of another transaction, such as a share issue or as part of an employee incentive scheme, otherwise a buyer would pay a premium to the seller for the option. A call option would normally be exercised only when the strike price is below the market value of the underlying asset, while a put option would normally be exercised only when the strike price is above the market value. When an option is exercised, the cost to the buyer of the asset acquired is the strike price plus the premium, if any. When the option expiration date passes without the option being exercised, then the option expires and the buyer would forfeit the premium to the seller. In any case, the premium is income to the seller, and normally a capital loss to the buyer. The owner of an option may on-sell the option to a third party in a secondary market, in either an over-the-counter transaction or on an options exchange, depending on the option. The market price of an American-style option normally closely follows that of the underlying stock, being the difference between the market price of the stock and the strike price of the option. The actual market price of the option may vary depending on a number of factors, such as a significant option holder may need to sell the option as the expiry date is approaching and does not have the financial resources to exercise the option, or a buyer in the market is trying to amass a large option holding. The ownership of an option does not generally entitle the holder to any rights associated with the underlying asset, such as voting rights or any income from the underlying asset, such as a dividend. Options contracts have been known for decades. The Chicago Board Options Exchange was established in 1973, which set up a regime using standardized forms and terms and trade through a guaranteed clearing house. Trading activity and academic interest has increased since then. Today, many options are created in a standardized form and traded through clearing houses on regulated options exchanges, while other over-the-counter options are written as bilateral, customized contracts between a single buyer and seller, one or both of which may be a dealer or market-maker. Options are part of a larger class of financial instruments known as derivative products, or simply, derivatives.

When do you exercise American Call Option?
When there are NO dividends in the underlying then American Call Option is never exercised early since European Option and American Option are equivalent in this case. When dividends are expected, sometimes it is optimal to exercise an American Call Option immediately prior to an ex-dividend date. It is never optimal to exercise a call at other times. If the American Option is NOT exercised, the stock price drops by the amount of the dividend being paid. The Value of the option drops when the Stock price drops. The most likely time for the early exercise of an American Call is immediately before the final ex-dividend date.

Calisthenics Workouts: Pros and Cons (TOP 4!)

That said, some will say that there are major limitations to this type of workout regimen that will prevent you from seeing the gains you should from your hard work. In this video, I cover the 4 biggest pros and cons of calisthenics workouts to help you decide if they are right for you. To start, let’s cover the positives or pros of calisthenics training. Pros: 1. Least expensive workout option 2. Can do calisthenics exercises anywhere 3. More athletic in nature 4. Use as a fat loss workout option more readily It goes without saying that calisthenics exercises are very easy to implement since the cost barrier to entry is low. You can start a bodyweight exercise program without needing any equipment at all. This makes it much easier for those on a limited budget who can’t afford home gyms or gym memberships to get started on their workout. Next, calisthenics have a high level of convenience that allows them to be done anywhere. You can be outdoors without any equipment at all and still be able to get in a great workout if you are following a good bodyweight exercise program. Due to the high degree of compound movement that occurs with bodyweight exercises, they demand that you be a bit more athletic. By doing them however, you tend to develop more athleticism even if you aren’t the most coordinated or gifted to start. They make for the perfect exercise options when looking to maximize your ability to move and perform like an athlete. Finally, calisthenic workouts are great fat burning options since they include many high ‘bang for your buck’ exercises. By including multiple muscle groups into one movement, often in a way that allows you to perform many reps in a short period of time, you can significantly program them for a metabolic effect in your workouts. Now onto the cons of bodyweight or calisthenic workouts Cons: 1. Less control over loading 2. Requires more coordination 3. More difficult if already injured 5. Less Muscle Mass and strength from bodyweight workouts No doubt, it is harder to control the loading of calisthenic exercises. While you can always add another two and a half pound plate to the ends of a bar you cannot as easily modify a bodyweight exercise to make it more difficult if you don’t have a good understanding of biomechanics. Not only that, sometimes the jump to the next level of the exercise is too great and this often leads many stuck at plateaus for quite a long period of time. If you are already injured, the lack of single joint specificity in bodyweight exercises makes these a little less viable as options in your programming. Sure there are things you can do with your body weight that will get the job done in these instances, but they may not be as perfectly suited as some equipment based isolation exercises. Finally, the idea of not being able to build muscle with calisthenics is popular…but wrong! Watch the rest of the video to see my reasoning why. He gives options to make the exercises less and more challenging. He also gives an option to hit the obliques. Go for three (3) sets. Cable Crunch - it's a personal favorite of Alpha but is more difficult to feel. Your butt doesn't move. Only the upper body moves with a pause. Go for 15 - 20, three (3) sets. The Ball Crunch - not the most masculine looking but one of the most effective. Chin to ceiling with the ball in the small of your back, go up, pause, and down. If you quiver, all of your muscles are engaged. You don't need to go super fast. Go 10 slow with a pause. Then go for 10 pulses. It's a great way to finish off those abs! String of two of these together for a superset. Alternate back and forth for 3 sets. Perform twice a week with a few days in between. If you squeeze, go slow, and contract, you'll feel it for days. For example, calls on US Steel are up after the American steel maker pulled out of a steel maker conference and canceled a scheduled visit by an analyst to one of its mills. The largest integrated steel producer still buys most of its iron ore and does not own its own mines. Thus, the US options market is speculating about a purchase of iron mines or perhaps a merger or acquisition. The recent options trading volume of over 40,000 calls to fewer than 8,000 puts tells us that options traders are expecting good news for US steel and a rise in stock price. What are call options? For those not experienced in trading options, a call option contract on a stock gives the trader the right to purchase 100 shares of the stock on or before expiration date of the contract. He pays a premium, the price of the options contract for this right. The trader will buy the stock at the contract price, not the higher market price, providing that the price of the underlying stock moves up. If the stock price falls the trader is under no obligation to buy the stock. In the US options market contracts typically allow the trader to execute the options contract on or before the contract expiration date. These are referred to as American style options as opposed to European style options. European style options only allow the trader to execute the contract on the expiration date. Both types of options contracts are traded in US options markets and in Europe. In both the US options market and elsewhere it is possible to buy and sell options contracts before the expiration date. As the price of the underlying stock changes so will the value of the options contract. In order to profit the trader does not need to execute the contract. He only needs to execute the opposite trade to exit his contract, hopefully with a large profit. The high options trading volume on US Steel is part of the US options market response to rumors. Higher trading volume in both the underlying stock and in the US options market tends to make technical analysis of price changes more accurate and is attractive to technical traders. Traders use the US options market in order to hedge investment risk as well as to speculate on stock price changes. For example mining companies, oil companies, and agricultural producers, as well as their customers, buy and sell calls and puts on futures on commodities such as gold, crude oil, or winter wheat. As with stock options, traders purchase calls when they believe that the price of the underlying commodity will go up. When to buy puts is when the trader believes that the underlying price will fall. As an example a gold mining company may buy puts on gold bullion if they fear that the price of gold will fall. If the price of gold does fall the company will exercise their option and sell gold bullion at the contract price even though the market price may be substantially lower. On a different note, many people cannot do high impact exercises like running, due to problems in the joints, back or hip, which lead them to sedentary lives. If you are one of these people, swimming turns into a very attractive option. Many people assure that they feel more relaxed and with lower stress levels after a good swimming workout. This is great, because stress increases cortisol levels -- a hormone that makes people store a lot fat very easily. Next, I'll teach you 2 exercises that will help you burn fat like never before. The first one consists of swimming evenly at mid intensity for 15-45 minutes. The key to this exercise is being able to swim uniformly and without stopping for a maximum of 45 minutes. When you do a constant mid intensity cardio (at 60% of your maximum heart rate), your body burns energy that was stored as fat during the whole workout session. Your metabolism will increase its speed as well. Remember, if you're new to swimming, start with 5 minutes or less of continuous swim. Don't get frustrated if you get tired quickly, your strength and stamina will build up over time, until you're able to complete 45-minute sessions without stopping. Now for the second exercise! This one is a bit tougher than last one, but it's even more potent despite the training time being less than half (duration is 10-20 minutes). This high intensity interval training (HIIT) exercise consists of warming up with a slow 5-10 minute swim, then swimming for 1 minute at 90% of your maximum speed, and after that slowing down for 1 minute; the cycle must be repeated 5-10 times. If you do 5 cycles, your training session will last 10 minutes; if you complete 10, duration will be 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can do 1 or 2 laps at high speed and then 1 or 2, slower. Your body won't burn much fat with this exercise, and I know this is not good news... but, once you start doing it, your metabolism will accelerate incredibly and hormones that consume fat will be released in your body. What's amazing about this is that the fat-burning effect lasts up to 2 whole days! Do you get why it's so powerful now? This exercise may be hard to do, but just like the first exercise, you must remember to start slowly, and increase difficulty little by little. Then, what's important is to outdo yourself gradually until you can complete 5 or 10 cycles. Now you may be wondering: How many times a week do I need to do these exercises? You can do mid intensity workouts 4 times a week, but you may add or take away days according to your taste and convenience. I recommend doing HIIT workouts once or twice a week. This type of exercise is so intense that it requires its very own training session. You may swim an additional 10-20 minutes at mid or low intensity after you finish. Aditional tips: • If you're a beginner, you may want to train under the supervision of a swimming teacher to avoid all risk of drowning, even more so if you plan on doing the second exercise. • Make sure you drink a minimum of 2 liters of water a day (the mouthfuls you swallow from the swimming pool don't count ). That said, most of us don’t do this bodyweight exercise as effectively as we can be, which is costing us a chance to build the biggest chest or pecs that we can. In this video, I show you the best way to do pushups for a bigger chest by making just one small but important change to the way you do them. To begin, it is important to understand what the function of the chest muscles are in the first place. We are all familiar with their ability to push our arms away from our body as in a bench press. That said, given the orientation of the fibers of the chest, it is actually more important for the pecs to pull your arm across your chest into what is called horizontal adduction. This motion occurs most visibly in exercises like cable crossovers and even dumbbell flyes. That said, especially for athletes, flyes present a risk/reward ratio that isn’t necessarily optimal or even necessary if performed with the arms too far out in an attempt to maximize chest stretch. Even Arnold himself tore his pecs twice during the pec fly while chasing that elusive extra stretch he felt the exercise was providing him. That said, the portion of the horizontal adduction that we should be chasing the most is the end contraction. This comes when are hands are positioned in front of our chests and at or crossing over midline if possible. Now when it comes to pushups, you can immediately see that because our hands are fixed into the ground that it is impossible to actually move them closer together as we complete each rep. That doesn’t mean that we can’t simulate the movement however to engage the chest in a much stronger contraction. As I show you here, you want to be sure that when you come up to the top of each push up, you attempt to pull the hands closer to each other (though they won’t move since they are pressed into the ground) and then turn your forearms away from you. This second part can be accomplished by trying to envision your biceps turning towards the front as you come up. Both of these moves act to fire up the pec muscles even more and get a much stronger contraction on each pushup than you would otherwise get. Simply counting reps when doing push ups is not what is important if you are trying to build muscle at home with this chest exercise. You want to focus on increasing the number of quality reps you perform. The quality means everything. Get a stronger contraction on your pecs and you will be rewarded with better development and chest growth when working out at home (or wherever you decide to incorporate these tips). What Is the Value of American Option?
Professor Malkhaz Shashiashvili (Tbilisi State University) gave a presentation in the ISET conference hall. The presentation was titled "Discrete Time Hedging of the American Option". Abstract of the paper: In a complete financial market we consider the discrete time hedging of the American option with a convex payoff. It is well known that for the perfect hedging the writer of the option must trade continuously in time, which is impossible in practice. In reality, the writer hedges only at some discrete time instants. The perfect hedging requires the knowledge of the partial derivative of the value function of the American option in the underlying asset, the explicit form of which is unknown in most cases of practical importance. Several approximation methods have been developed for the calculation of the value function of the American option. We claim in this paper that having at hand any uniform approximation of the American option value function at equidistant discrete rebalancing times it is possible to construct a discrete time hedging portfolio, the value process of which uniformly approximates the value process of the continuous time perfect delta-hedging portfolio. We are able to estimate the corresponding discrete time hedging error that leads to a complete justification of our hedging method for non increasing convex payoff functions including the important case of the American put. This method is essentially based on a new type square integral estimate for the derivative of an arbitrary convex function recently found by Shashiashvili.

It's a higher level exercise that requires a fair amount of stability and strength so it's not something I would introduce to a patient who's just joining us with a lot of pain, acute pain or spasm, but rather as they were getting better and they're moving on with their care. They've been working on some core strengthening. The patient that really enjoyed doing sit ups and crunches on the floor, this is a great option for them using an exercise ball or a swiss ball. So why don't you kind of walk a few feet forward? That's about right. Now have your hands behind your neck and come all the way down into an extension and back up into a crunch. This exercise is called a crunch but the best part about doing a crunch on the ball is that we can come back down. She's actually putting her spine into a little bit of extension and then coming back up into a flex position. So it gets a nice balance of extension and flexion. If she was on the floor doing it she would not be able to fall into a little bit of extension pose because the floor would be in the way. So it really enables patients who enjoy crunches who are still suffering a little bit with their condition to get back into doing an exercise they enjoy and it will not cause any harm to their spine and to their problem. Repetitions is the key, maybe 10 to 15 repetitions per set, and reassess after that. This is the sit up or the crunch on an exercise.
