Some of the best beaches in Greece! 720p/HD

09:22
Greece has more than 16,000 kilometers (9,320 miles) of coastline, 200,000 beaches, 6,000 islands (and islets). Greece's coastline is by far the longest coastline in the Mediterranean sea, and the tenth longest in the world. The deepest point in the Mediterranean Sea is called the "Calypso Deep", it is located in the Ionian Sea in Greece, and is 5,267 meters deep (17,280 feet). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The quality of coastal bathing waters in Greece is systematically monitored since 1988 (according to Directive 76/160/EEC), and since then Greece has been receiving excellent reports on it's bathing water sites, with more than 95% of them meeting the most stringent guide values (excellent quality). According to the 2012 European bathing water quality report of the European Environment Agency, Greece and Cyprus have the cleanest coastal bathing waters in Europe. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regardless of your location in Greece, a beach won't be far away. Beaches in Greece have a serene, peaceful atmosphere. Most beaches have shallow, calm, crystal clear waters that make them ideal for young children and families. Due to the country's peninsular shape, big waves do not usually reach the beaches, except those that are exposed to the open ocean, which are mostly preferred by windsurfers. Apart from the long wide sandy beaches, and those lined with pine (in the North), or palm (in Crete) trees and lush green grass in the north, there are many small rocky, pebbly inlets, perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are also numerous remote beaches that are only accessible by boat, and other secluded naturalist beaches lining the coasts of Greece, where nudism is quite prevalent. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conditions in various beach destinations in the world can differ greatly. During the tourist season, Tropical Weather (in contrast to Mediterranean Weather), can produce unpleasant atmospheric conditions like: Sudden storms, monsoons, floods, clouds, extreme humidity and precipitation, unpleasantly warm sea temperature, dangerous strong ocean rip currents that can pull swimmers away from the shore without them even noticing and huge waves that can cause sea water to lose its clarity and become foamy, murky and dirty. Moreover, due to vast presence of algae, low salinity/iodine levels, excessive bacterial and micro-organic activity (which can be highly pathogenic), the sea color in the Tropical Zones can obtain a repulsive, slimy green color. In contrast to the Tropics, Greek summer is always hot, calm, sunny, cloudless and dry and the Greek sea is blue, clear and a lot safer, not only health-wise but also due to the fact that encounters with dangerous/venomous sea creatures and organisms is extremely rare in Greece, as such species are not endemic to the Mediterranean region. (There is only one anecdotal tale of a fatal shark attack in the Greek islands, and that was reported nearly a century ago). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Video Info: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music: 00:00 - 07:08 "Salt Tank - Sargasso Sea" (InternalRecords) 07:09 - 09:08 "Mikro - Eikones" (UndoRecords/ EMI /Warner) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pictures: Mainly from Flickr / Panoramio / Trekearth accounts. Quick Tip from the BEACH - Tips for taking photos on the beach

03:35
http://froknowsphoto.com/qt-beach-photos/ I just landed from my trip to Ft Lauderdale Florida where I got to spend some time on the beach. While I was out there sitting on the beach getting stressed out that I was just sitting around, I decided to make a video. The Quick Tip I decided to focus on was taking pictures on the beach and a few do's and dont's. Now I know I only gave a few tips but I think they are tips that should be kept in your mind for when you may have to shoot on the beach. The first tip has to do with when to shoot and when not to. There are times where the spray from the ocean is thick and is sticking to everything. This is not the best time to take your gear out as the misty wet sand will end up not only on your lenses but possibly in your camera. If you really need to shoot in this type of environment my suggestion would be to use one of those ThinkTank Photo Hydrophobias and to put a UV or CP filter on your lens. The Hydrophobia will protect your camera from the fine sand particles and sticky mist that is flying around. The UV or CP filter will protect the front element of your lens and take the brunt of the sticky sand for you. The idea is to protect your camera and lenses at all costs on the beach. I personally do not use a UV filter on any of my lenses. But in a situation where there is a chance of something happening to my lens, I rather risk a $75 filter over a $2,000 Lens. Another tip I brought up was to use a circular polarizer when you are on the beach. This will make the sky and water really pop before you ever take your images into the computer. Remember this if you have a UV filter on your lens and you want to use the CP be sure to remove the UV first. It is never a good thing to stack filters as it will start to one cut down on light and two cut down on the quality of your images. The last quick tip form the video is for those who go from a very cold climate right outside into a humid hot day. What is going to happen is you will get instant condensation on your lens and possibly inside your camera. There is no way to stop this once it starts, your lens will fog up and its possible that your camera will as well. My recommendation is you leave your camera and lenses outside to acclimated to the outside temperate. You want to leave yourself enough time for this equalization to occur because you will not be able to shoot images with a foggy camera or lens. Do not attempt to wipe away the condensation as it will just come right back until it matches the outside temperature. One final though is if you do end up getting sand on your lens you want to be very careful how you clean it. You will not want to try and rub a lens cloth across the front element as there is a possibility that the fine particles of sand will scratch your lens. I think the best think to do is use a rocket air once the same dries. This way you will remove all the particles before you try to physically wipe the lens. All and all be very careful on the beach, sand and sea water are a killer even in small doses. Be sure to clean your gear after being on the beach so it does not have a chance to eat away at it. MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA, SOUTH BEACH MIAMI, MIAMI BEACH

01:14
MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA, SOUTH BEACH MIAMI, MIAMI BEACH, Miami Beach has a tropical climate, more specifically a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen Am),[47] with hot humid summers and warm dry winters. Other than the Florida Keys, Miami Beach has the warmest winter weather in the United States (mainland). The warm and sunny weather in Miami Beach and South Florida attracts millions of travelers from around the world from November through April. Sea surface temperatures range from 74 F in winter to 86 F in the spring/summer/fall months. Miami Beach has the warmest ocean surf in the United States mainland annually. Like much of Florida, there is a marked wet and dry season in Miami Beach. The tropical rainy season runs from May through September, when showers and late day thunderstorms are common. The dry season is from November through April, when few showers, sunshine, and low humidity prevail. The island location of Miami Beach however, creates fewer convective thunderstorms, so Miami Beach receives less rainfall in a given year than neighboring areas such as Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Proximity to the moderating influence of the Atlantic gives Miami Beach lower high temperatures and higher lows than inland areas of Florida. Other than the Florida Keys (and Key West), Miami Beach is the only U.S. city (mainland) to never report snow flurries in its weather history.[48] Miami Beach's location on the Atlantic Ocean, near its confluence with the Gulf of Mexico, make it extraordinarily vulnerable to hurricanes and tropical storms. Though direct strikes from hurricanes are rare (Miami has experienced only two direct hits from major hurricanes in recorded weather history – the 1926 Miami hurricane and Hurricane Cleo in 1964), the area has seen indirect contact from hurricanes Betsy (1965), Inez (1966), Andrew (1992), Irene (1999), Michelle (2001), Katrina (2005), and Wilma (2005). Each December, the City of Miami Beach hosts Art Basel Miami Beach, one of the largest art shows in the United States. Art Basel Miami Beach, the sister event to the Art Basel event held each June in Basel, Switzerland, combines an international selection of top galleries with a program of special exhibitions, parties and crossover events featuring music, film, architecture and design. Exhibition sites are located in the city's Art Deco District, and ancillary events are scattered throughout the greater Miami metropolitan area. Public Transportation in Miami Beach is operated by Miami-Dade Transit (MDT). Along with neighborhoods such as Downtown and Brickell, public transit is heavily used in Miami Beach, and is a vital part of city life. Although Miami Beach has no direct Metrorail stations, numerous Metrobus lines connect to Downtown Miami and Metrorail (i.e., the 'S' bus line). The South Beach Local (SBL) is one of the most heavily used lines in Miami, and connects all major points of South Beach to other major bus lines in the city. Metrobus ridership in Miami Beach is high, with some of the routes such as the L and S being the busiest Metrobus routes.[67] The Airport-Beach Express (Route 150), operated by MDT, is a direct-service bus line that connects Miami International Airport to major points in South Beach. The ride costs $2.65, and runs every 30 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. seven days a week.[68] Bicycling[edit] Since the late 20th century, cycling has grown in popularity in Miami Beach. Due to its dense, urban nature, and pedestrian-friendly streets, many Miami Beach residents get around by bicycle. In March 2011 a public bicycle sharing system named Decobike was launched, one of only a handful of such programs in the United States. The program is operated by a private corporation, Decobike, LLC, but is partnered with the City of Miami Beach in a revenue sharing model.[69] Once fully implemented, the program hopes to have around 1000 bikes accessible from 100 stations throughout Miami Beach, from around 85th Street on the north side of Miami Beach all the way south to South Pointe Park

GIANT SQUID WASHES UP ON BEACH NZ

03:44
Giant Squids have been known to roam the oceans for many years, but not until recently have we gotten photographic proof of that thanks to advances in technology. ________________________ This video was also submitted by Vincent Jap ________________________ In this video, however, everyday people like you and me get to see a giant squid up close and personal… The video was submitted by Udara Shashipriya and Katona Zalán. It only shows one picture but claims the picture is of a giant squid that was washed up on a beach in New Zealand. But is this picture for real? Or is this just another big fat fake - that’s what Udara and Katona want to know. Looking closer at the video, I see it was posted by a youtube channel called Absolutely Incredible… The title mentions the beach where the squid supposedly washed up. On a hunch, I looked up the closest police station to that beach and gave them a call to see if they had heard of this incident. It must have been huge news. The information, I received from the police led to this… the official answer. Here we go. and I quote: The picture claiming to show a giant squid washed up on a beach in New Zealand has been thoroughly examined. From this examination, the picture has been determined to be… 100%... beyond any shadow of a doubt... a big fat fake… According to my police informants in New Zealand, there was a squid that washed ashore, but it was on the opposite coast at a place called Kaikoura. it was also much smaller than the one pictured in the video.

Best Beaches in Sydney, Australia

04:14
Sydney Australia is famous for its beautiful beaches, so I decided to go find the best beaches that this city has to offer... Here is my list of the Best Beaches in Sydney Australia: BRONTE BEACH My list begins on the southside of Sydney’s incredible coastal walk with a family-friendly place called Bronte Beach. Natural and man-made pools protect you from the dangerous rip known as the Bronte Express. COOGEE BEACH Over Dolphin’s Point, There’s Coogee Beach, which is much larger than Bronte and also safer for swimming. Both Bronte and Coogee are located in really cool neighborhoods with some great places to eat and drink down by the water. CLOVELLY BEACH In between Coogee and Bronte is the concrete and rocky waterfront of Clovelly Beach - its the perfect place to go if you don’t want any sand in your bikini. GORDONS BAY Across Bundock Park is Gordons Bay, which doesn’t have the best beach, but the water is calm and clear so its a really nice spot for snorkeling. PARSLEY BAY I absolutely love the smaller bay beaches towards the top end of the Peninsula, and my personal favorite of all these is a cool little hidden gem called Parsley Bay. It is tucked away within a quiet neighborhood and the shark nets make me feel better about swimming. KUTTIE BEACH Kuttie is another small, quiet spot within a residential area. WATSONS BAY When you're at Watson's Bay, stop by Doyle's for lunch on the water. A completely different vibe here than over between Bondi and Bronte Beach. MILK BEACH For amazing views of Sydney Harbor, follow the path to the small and quiet Milk Beach. TAMARAMA BEACH Back over on the beautiful coastline, the quiet and secluded Tamarama Beach is great place to get away from the crowds of neighboring Coogee and Bondi. Its usually occupied by a laid-back, local crowd with a heavy focus on the top-notch surf break. BONDI BEACH Just around the rocky cliffs, you’ll find one of the most well known beaches in the world… From the iconic Icebergs pool which overlooks the beach, to the abundance of beautiful sunbathers, Bondi is famous for a reason. Popular with international backpackers and tourists, its a place to see and be seen. Especially considering its bikini top optional. Don’t get too distracted though, because There’s tons of beach activities going on, and the waves are a bit more manageable than at other beaches, so its a good place to take your first surf lesson or just go for a swim. If you’re in town for awhile, stay at the Hotel Ravesis right at the beach and check out some of the chill bars and delicious restaurants around the neighborhood. MANLY BEACH If you take the ferry north from Sydney Harbor, you’ll come to Manly Beach - the gateway to the most beautiful stretch of sand in Sydney. Manly itself is the most lively of all the northern beaches, with surf competitions and weekend events, its a very popular place in the summertime. But If you’re looking to break away from the crowds, keep heading north and you’ll find a lot more space in the sand at places like Collaroy beach, Avalon beach, and way up at the top, is Palm Beach. PALM BEACH Palm Beach is Sydney's most northerly stretch of sand, and It sits on a peninsula at the end of Barrenjoey Road, between Pittwater and Broken Bay. Palm Beach is sometimes referred to as 'Palmy' and its a great spot for surfing and sunbathing. Make sure you walk up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse for an amazing view! And If you’ve made it this far, you’ve officially explored some of the best beaches in Sydney! STRANGE Things Washed Up On Beaches

10:14
There are some weird things that wash up on beaches, and it’s not all plastic, not even close! Although our plastic in the ocean is getting pretty… I’ll leave that for another time. You’ve heard the stories, seen the pictures, read about some of these things, but how much do you really know? There are some weird things, some gross things, some valuable things, and so much more that wash up on our beaches regularly and I’m here to bring you some interesting ones. Sit back and get ready for Strange Things Washed Up on Beaches. 5. Olive Ridley Sea Turtles These poor turtles apparently kept washing ashore in Oregon and Washington a few years ago, which was far away from where they’re typically found, in southern California or even farther south. Storms were thought to be maybe to blame for sending the Olive Ridley’s so far off course into some severely cold waters for them. For weeks, turtles kept turning up on shore so cold and disoriented, sometimes injured, and one had even passed away, but scientists weren’t 100% sure why. They believed massive storms mixed with the El Nino and a “warm blob” that had been hanging off the Pacific Coast for a few years could all come together to create the perfect storm for the turtles and drive them into unintended waters. The turtles were treated (as seen in this picture) and handed off to aquariums for long-term rehabilitation and care. 4. Huge Ice Chunks The big old suckers you see in this picture began washing up on the shores of Cape Cod, and sort of stunned everyone who lived in the area as something like that is pretty darn rare. A photographer that goes by Dapixara decided to go out and snap some pictures that you can see here of the incredible phenomenon and called Cape Cod his, “sacred place to be creative.” The gigantic chunks were labeled a “once-in-a-generation” happening and those who got out to see them look like they had fun as you can see here. The beach at the town of Wellfleet in Massachusetts was basically transformed into some strange, apocalyptic-looking, Arctic outpost with massive chunks of ice the size of cars sitting on the shore as you can see in this picture. Pretty crazy! Wish I were there to see that! 3. Valuable Vomit A couple in Australia way back in 2006, stumbled across something that was worth a fortune, and you’ll probably never guess what it was? It’s called ambergris (pictured here), which is a whale excretion that is used in various perfumes and is commonly known as “floating gold.” Leon and Loralee Wright were taking a stroll along a beach in South Australia near Streaky Bay while they were on a fishing trip when they spotted something strange. Leon inspected the object, that resembled what you see in this picture, and determined that it could be a cyst or something from some sizeable marine animal and insisted on taking it home. Loralee refused, and they left it but searched for it on the internet. Unable to find an answer, they went back and got it and described the object to an ecologist named Ken Jury who immediately knew it could be ambergris (pictured here), a substance vomited up by a whale. He told the couple that it could get between $20 and $65 a gram and that meant that theirs could fetch $295,000. That was twelve years ago, and I couldn’t find what happened. That’s the internet for ya. 2. Hairy Blob The super strange, funky-looking thing you see in this picture washed up on shore in the Philippines on the Dinagat Islands, and it left people a little more than confused. The perplexing creature seen here weighed in at more than 4,000 pounds and spanned right around twenty feet in length, which, for an unidentifiable animal, is pretty darn scary. The creature seemed to have long, white, shaggy hair and was almost alien-like in its appearance. Some people speculated that it could be a half-polar bear, half-whale, but the head of ORCA, a conservation and science protection group for dolphins and whales, Lucy Babey, believes that what you see in this picture is a severely decomposed sea creature in some of the later stages of decomposition. She thinks it’s probably a whale or part of one, and that the hair is actually decomposed muscle fibers. All of this was eventually confirmed, what you see in this picture is a dead whale, missing its tail, and rotting muscle fibers. Ew. Step back, people! Dat nasty. 1...

How to make a wool felt picture: beach sea

10:45
"How to make a wool felt picture: beach sea" is an easy tutorial that gives you details of all you need to learn to make a picture using the wet felting technique. By placing different coloured layers of wool rovings and silk tops, and different kinds yarns - you can create a great beach and sea felt painting that also has shells and coral effects. At the beginning I show you a few other more detailed felt pictures I have made, giving you an idea of what can be achieved. This project is a great little picture - fairly simple and quick to put together, but at the same time giving you a beautiful sea felt 'painting'. It shows you how a simple design layout can actually be very effective. See how each layer is built up so you get good depth of colour, and then how to put the finishing touches on for the details. All materials you need are listed below. I used local Australian Merino wool for this project, which is such a wonderful, soft fibre that felts easily. If you are new to felt-making and want to learn the basics, visit How to make felt: https://youtu.be/f-onTemjDHg If you're interested in eco-printing, watch the video How to eco-print felt with leaves and dye - full details https://youtu.be/Jzz8D5zZrgk If you've enjoyed this video, please LIKE! and subscribe if you'd like to be notified of other felting, eco-printing and creative videos in future. Thanks! MATERIALS USED IN THIS PROJECT: Bubble wrap Nylon netting or old net curtain Towels Soap, water (soap solution using either soap bar or hand soap) Spray bottle Half a pool noodle Elastic bands Glass with a patterned base if you have one Wool rovings aka tops (I use Australian Merino 18.5 - 20 microns) in various shades of blues/orange and yellows and white Variegated yarn Dimensional wool yarn Silk tops (hand dyed) Vinegar Rinsing bowl, bucket or kitchen sink Video and photos are filmed by me at home and on location in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Queensland, Australia. Romantic Couples are Enjoying in beaches of Cox's bazar and Saint Martin

03:51
Cox's Bazar (কক্সবাজার, Koksbajar, Koksbazar or Kokshbajar) is a town, a fishing port and district headquarters in Bangladesh. The beach in Cox's Bazar is an unbroken 120 km (75 mi) sandy sea beach with a gentle slope, one of the world's longest. It is located 150 km (93 mi) south of the industrial port Chittagong. Cox's Bazar is also known by the name Panowa, whose literal translation means "yellow flower." Its other old name was "Palongkee". The modern Cox's Bazar derives its name from Captain Hiram Cox (died 1799), an officer of the British East India Company. Cox was appointed Superintendent of Palongkee outpost after Warren Hastings became Governor of Bengal. Captain Cox was specially mobilised to deal with a century-long conflict between Arakan refugees and local Rakhains. He embarked upon the task of rehabilitating refugees in the area and made significant progress. Captain Cox died in 1799 before he could finish his work. To commemorate his role in rehabilitation work, a market was established and named Cox's Bazar ("Cox's Market") after him. Today, Cox's Bazar is one of the most-visited tourist destinations in Bangladesh, though it is not a major international tourist destination. In 2013, the Bangladesh Government formed the Tourist Police unit to better protect local and foreign tourists, as well as to look after the nature and wildlife in the tourist spots of Cox's Bazar. Tourist attractions near the town: Beach-side accessories for the tourists at Cox's Bazar The beach is the main attraction of the town. Larger hotels provide exclusive beachside area with accessories for the hotel guests. Visitors in other hotels visit the Laboni beach which is the area of the beach closest to the town. Other than the beach there are several places of interest near the town which can easily be visited from town centre. • Himchari National Park • Aggmeda Khyang • Ramu • Parasailing * Jet ski * Limited facility to do boat roaring * Horse riding • Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park: • Inani Beach Inani is a stony beach near Cox's Bazar. http://tuberls.blogspot.qa/ https://twitter.com/Tiger_shil https://www.tumblr.com/blog/tuberls2020 https://www.reddit.com/user/TuberLs2020/ Subscribe My Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnefMcK6sDBuQm10WSzzGsQ Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMWqQ0pQYe5f-6a-OXO0h75NWl8UL66eM

San Francisco Tombstones It’s not unusual to find objects that have washed up on beaches, but residents of San Francisco were in for a surprise in 2012 when some particularly somber items started appearing. Local residents started finding tombstones in the sand of people that had died in the 1800’s. First there was one from 1876, then one from 1890, and they kept on showing up. While this may seem like a dark secret coming to light, the explanation for all of this was far more simple. The reason it had been happening was to do with construction works that had been done to help protect the beaches. The area had formerly been used as a graveyard, but the bodies had long been moved inland. The stones, on the other hand, proved too costly to be moved and were, instead, re-purposed. They were used as breakwaters, gutter liners and to construct a seawall, and it appears as if it is some of these had broken loose and washed up on the beach. 9. Severed Feet Since 2007 beaches and islands on the coast of British Columbia in Canada and Washington state in America have seen a particularly gruesome series of objects washing up on them- human feet that, in most cases, are still in their shoes. In total, 16 feet have been found. Disturbingly only two of these were left feet, which were matched with right feet that also washed up, meaning that the rest must have come from at least 14 different people. It’s completely unknown how these feet arrived on these beaches. Only four people have been identified as their owners, but there are plenty of suggestions of how such a thing might happen. The strange thing here is that only feet have been found, and no bodies. Some people suspect foul play by gangsters, others think they have come from the victims of a plane crash near the area in 2005, and some have suggested they may actually have come from victims of the Asian tsunami in 2004. All of them have been found within shoes that would provide enough buoyancy for them to be carried by currents across the ocean, so it is completely feasible. The true origin of the feet might be a bit closer to home, though. One of those that were found have been linked to a man, and two of the feet have been identified as being from a woman who jumped from the Pattullo Bridge in 2004. It’s quite possible, therefore, that these feet have all come from people who suffered similar fates in the surrounding area. 8. Ambergris As one of the grossest objects you could ever find on the beach, Ambergris is probably the one from this list that you’d most hope to find, because it turns out that this stuff is incredibly valuable. This substance is made when sperm whales eject an intestinal slurry into the ocean. From here it floats and bobs in the waves and, years later, washes up. You’d be forgiven for thinking this was an uninteresting object amongst the rocks, sand and shells that you normally find. It can be found in many forms such as large blocks, balls, egg shapes, jagged pieces or hard rolls, and has a unique smell that purportedly has notes of seaweed, farm animals and maybe a fecal note. Lumps that have been in the ocean for a long time, though, will have a sweeter, earthy scent to them. This smell, rarity, and the unique chemical properties that Ambergris has, is the reason behind its high value. It was, for a long time, a key ingredient for high-end perfume makers like Chanel and Lanvin because of its ability to fix the scent to human skin. While alternatives have been found in recent times, it is still a highly sought after substance--- a 1.1 Kilogram lump that was found in Wales in 2015 sold for £11,000 (around $13,400) at auction later that year.
