It doesn’t matter whether you’re using Amazon’s FBA program, or you’re dropshipping: You can make even more if you leverage the power of bundling items together. Bundles can give you the following advantages:
1) They make it easier to sell high-competition items.
2) They let you sell the items for higher profit margins while saving the customer money.
3) They sometimes let you charge more for each item.
Amazon bundles are a great example of how a little creativity can go a long way to increasing your sales and improving your Amazon income.
So, let’s take a look at these 3 big advantages.
1) Amazon Bundles make it easier to sell high-competition items
In this video, I explained that Tim Tams are a popular grocery item on Amazon. This is because they are difficult to source in the United States and are very popular despite being a very popular grocery item in Australia. This means that they have a high potential to make a lot of profit, which has attracted a lot of other sellers and created competition when selling individual packets of Tim Tams.
Now - most people think immediately to sell individual packets of Tim Tams. They don’t think about bundling these Tim Tams together, and selling them as a complete bundle. Which is a huge mistake… because these are very popular with buyers!
But most sellers don’t think to sell items like this as a bundle, they simply think to sell them as-is. They don’t go that one step further in their head… and so miss out on lots of potential profits as a result.
This means that if YOU can go that extra step and think outside the box to bundle the packets of Tim Tams together, you could make a lot of money by selling a popular item with less competitors.
2) Amazon Bundles let you sell items for higher profit margins while saving the customer money (especially for Amazon FBA bundles).
By packaging items together as a single bundle, you can lower the cost overall of each individual item for the buyer, while earning higher profit margins on the sale. This is because of fixed priced fees that you must pay as a seller on Amazon.
This is especially true with Amazon FBA bundles as there are base fixed prices for Fulfilled by Amazon items.
* For media items, there is a fixed Pick & Pack fee of $1.04.
* For small non-media items, there is a fixed order handling fee of $1 and a fixed pick & pack fee of $1.04.
* For oversized non-media items, there is a fixed pick & pack fee between $4.05 to $10.34 depending on how large the item is.
In the example I gave in the video, selling an individual packet of Tim Tams would leave you with $5.91 after fixed fees.
But, if you bundled 3 packets of Tim Tams together, each pack would leave you with $7.06 after fixed fees, increasing your profit margins.
3) Amazon bundles sometimes let you sell items for a higher price than you could’ve gotten if you’d sold them individually.
Sometimes, people aren’t looking for individual items… they instead directly look for a bundle of them because they want to buy it in multiples. In my video, Making Money Online with a Dropshipping Business (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAhtNdhOK1Y) I show one bundle of Q-SEE 480TV security cameras that are selling for $586.59 as a pack of four.
But, individually, these sell for $49.60 (plus $6.99 for shipping).
And on average, this seller was selling this bundle 3 times per month.
By bundling the cameras together and charging a higher price, they were able to catch consumers that were specifically looking for bundles, who didn’t bother to look at how much they could buy it for individually.
