A Houston girl is sharing her own horror story to warn other teens and parents about the potential dangers of dating apps.
The 15-year-old said she was sexually assaulted by a man she met through one of the apps.
German Francisco Orozco-Moncada, 23, is behind bars on a sexual assault charge.
The victim said she first tried to meet boys on Facebook, but that failed so she downloaded the dating app. That's how she met Orozco-Moncada.
After he repeatedly asked for her address, she finally gave in and told him. He soon showed up on her doorstep.
"He just started telling me stuff, like if I didn't' have sex with him, he was going to make me have sex with him," the teen said. "He also told me that if I didn't have sex with him that he was going to kill me and my parents."
The man forced her into his car and drove to a nearby Walmart, then to a deserted area behind some shops on Stella Link road. That's where he raped her, the girl said.
The next day, the girl told a friend what happened. The friend told a school counselor and she called police.
"I'm scared now that I have to go to court, and just by thinking about it, I have to see him face to face," the girl said.
She wants other girls to know the danger of meeting someone online and to seek help, if they are in trouble.
"There are more guys out there that can do that to them," she said. "And to some friends of mine, it probably happened to them. I want them to take care and keep going on with their life."
The victim said it's taken months of therapy to help her understand.
German Orozco-Moncada is being held on a $30,000 bond.
