thank you for my daughter now I have an idea for Xmas presents for her. And she won't have to pretend to like it. I don't want to be that mom that doesn't keep up with styling for younger generation. 😁
Glad to know there's other over 40's (how about over 50's?) "fashionistas" that dress like I do. I'm tall, slim and wear my (many pairs of) skinny jeans and ankle booties the way you suggest. But I also LOVE wearing them WITH crazy patterned socks; knee-highs, especially witchy, striped designs constructed with interesting types of knitting or weaves. I scrunch them down around the calf and then coordinate the color of the stripes (or what have you) with what I'm wearing, usually a chunky sweater, a scarf and a smoking leather jacket or mid-length coat. I'm originally from NYC, but I now live in the Mid-West, and you definitely need socks out here in the Fall and Winter. I love the look; I think all that sophistication and then an inch or so of some kooky color/ patterned sock peeking out from your jean hem under looks "Krazy, sexy and Kool!"
Seriously? Pretty obvious. And the show of skin BREAKS the lines and makes legs look shorter -- not a good idea for heavier or shorter wearers. The "no-show" peds often will slip off the heel when you are walking in stiffer boots. NOT a good solution. Ankle socks solve that issue, can be rolled down a bit if the wearer dislikes them showing or -- tucked underneath the jeans -- can bridge the "skin" gap between boot top and jeans hemline. They also won't bunch up underneath your foot when you move.
I dont know how this ended up on my feed/thread. No DISRESPECT to you...but you can't make decisions for other people and make it a standard for people in a certain age group. Just say it is YOUR personal fashion style!
Would you ever wear black skinny jeans with dark wash jean colored shooties? Or jeans that are a lighter color wash than the shoes? I have a pair of shooties that I love but they're a dark blue jean color and I'm curious about what to wear them with.
Respectfully from one 5'4" lady to another even though I have a short body and long legs they are still only 31" and if you cuff your jeans you shorten your legs. I think it is best to tuck your jeans into your boots. If you want to give the illusion of length wear black jeans and black boots. This does not draw the eye to the space between the end of your jeans and your boot cuff.
I'm 4'11". I have really short calves. I love booties, but I look so odd no matter what I try for jeans and booties. I always wear heels bc of my height and will continue to try out different combos of booties and jeans until I get it right, but are there any recommendations for us shorties?
Chloe is correct- ...5’6 was the average height of American women for years...now 5’4 is the average height for American women ... the tallest women in the world are in Latvian, the average there being 5’7....average American men were 6ft for years and years and now their average is 5’9.... the tallest men in the world are Dutch with the average Dutchman being 6ft..
So glad I stumbled on your video, we're the same hight so this was great for me. I would love to see styles using boot socks. I never know what styles work best for higher ankle booties or mid calf boots. Love the look but can't figure out how to wear them and what kind of socks look best.
I’m 5’3 but have really short legs. Cropped length is a regular length on me. And I always feel like it’s too fabric to cuff. I think I’m either wearing the wrong jeans or the wrong booties or a combo of both. 😐
check out TJ Maxx, Ross, and consignment shops. I have found new boots at local consignment for less than a fourth the cost of retail. Plus the non brand name boots can be very comfortable as well as stylish. The pair i get the most compliments on were 25 bucks from the mall. Same thing for jeans. my favorite pair of jeans that make my short legs look a few inches longer are actually Lee Riders. I have never tried a pair of designer jeans that looked any better than less expensive ones I already had. my biggest problem with jeans is that they are almost always too long and require me to wear heels. (i don't want to constan
I'm 5'0. Can I wear a shootie or an peep toe bootie? Regular heel, not a wedge. I like the style of shoe but can't figure out how to wear it without cutting off my legs and making them look shorter. the top of the shootie goes above the ankle.
I always have problems in finding jeans that will fit me lengthwise cuz I have short chubby legs...lol. But I love ankle boots!! I love the different ways you showed how to wear them with jeans. Thank you for the fashion tips!
Hey Robbie... I invest in some things and others I buy very inexpensively. If I feature a higher priced item, I always offer an alternative for less. Use the concepts and recreate. No need to buy the exact item. Thank you!
I love all the looks and I do the same as you as far as rolling cuffs or tucking in! I am 5'3'' and about your size. I like the look of a little bit of ankle showing. I understand not everyone likes the look. You looked HOT coming down those stairs! Great job!
I just found your channel & love it! Thanks for this video! I wish I had found it sooner. I have a lot of cropped jeans & a few pairs of ankle boots but didn’t know how to pair the two. I went all summer not wearing the cropped jeans because I hate how my feet look & all I had were open toe sandals & flip flops. Definitely going to try this combo today!
You are so funny!! Miss Louie is around your height! Have you checked out her videos?? I also did a tips to look taller video recently: https://youtu.be/JyguWQRWxdE not that you need to look taller, only if you want to look taller. 😉💗
I've heard "easy peasy" twice, today, from very professional white woman in their tutorial videos. Well, we all know that the second verse to that old phrase is not so kind. I wish you would stop using the term, even shortened, to make it seem innocent and fun when it's origins are very offensive. Just a thought for you to ponder if you are a genuinely kind human being, which you do seem to be in other respects. Thank you for your time.
I agree with these ladies..I know that I am not wearing floods..I have learned allof these tricks from you, but still think some people are thinking why does she have a space between her jeans and her booties..Next time if someone looks or asks I am going to say my stylist is the famous Erin Busbee and she knows her stuff..lol Love u beautiful girl..great video and your boot selection is great.💟💟💟
those no slip things have never helped mine stay up - one foot stays and the other doesn't. I have just had to try different brands. footies under boots give more options to try because they don't have to be as low profile as the no show peds for flats. To try different ones I check Ross and TJ Maxx so i can 3 pair for 5 bucks (or less). Then if they don't work well, I haven't spent that much. My fave brand i think is Hue. I want to wear shoes with no show socks just because of how comfortable the footies are!
