I have a Nikon d810 camera with a Samyang 135 f2 lens.
I'm a painter and I want to shoot my paintings ... I want all parts of the picture to be sharp
... The focus point in the far right is important to me like in the far left ..
How do I set the settings for that .... Thanks
My Name is Lekshmi from India; I am so addictive to your Youtube Channel, love the way you explain with much simplicity which is easy to understand for even common people. Ok Sir let me come to the point, I am planning to Gift my physically disabled friend an Nikon D810 (body), I am not a big budget Girl but my friend is so made ok Nikon D810. What I need your help Sir, is what lens should I gift him with the Camera. My friend has little difficulty in moving around so thought to give lens which suits him. He always says about bokeh effects (I personally don’t know which lens is good for that) and My friend takes good photograph with his point and shot small camera, so my purpose of gifting is that he can take some good photos or a small studio which can give him some income, Is these lens good Sir, 1) Nikon 50mm f/1.4G, 2) AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR 3) AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED 4) AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR. Also I want a good external Flash; Battery Grip and a Tripod, I hope you Sir would help me with a very Good advice.
+lekshmi Pillai Hello again! All of the lenses you mention will be quite suitable for use with the D810. The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR is the lens that comes in a kit option with the D810 body so would be the initial and best choice. It has a very long zoom range while maintaining good fixed aperture specification which will help with 'bokeh' effects for portraits and other types of photographs. Its large zoom range will also be very suitable for someone of reduced mobility and it goes from wide angle to telephoto lengths so will suit the majority of situations you would encounter when photographing. It would be the ideal first lens to go with the D810.
A good choice of external flash would be the SB-910 as this is the most powerful and versatile Speedlight flash in our range. The multi power battery pack MB-D12 is compatible with the D810 body and adds further controls for comfortable vertical shooting. With the weight of the D810 and a zoom lens attached we would recommend a strong high quality tripod manufactured by a reputable company and to the highest quality. A local camera store can advise further on this or perhaps some review web sites online.
Hope your friend likes his Nikon D810!
