Footage of Banded Sea Snake, Lighthouse, Malapascua, Philippines - 4 March 2013

0 ratings | 190 views
This was a night dive on March 4, 2013 around 1800PM. Video taken with Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100, Ikelite WP housing and W-30 wide angle conversion lense and alot of torches around. From Wikipedia: The colubrine sea krait, banded sea krait or yellow-lipped sea krait (Laticauda colubrina) is a species of sea snake found in tropical Indo-Pacific oceanic waters. Sea snakes are known to be far less agressive than land snakes. They don't usually bite unless tangled in fisher's net or hauled in with a catch. This one was just mad having all the spot lights on its head during a night dive at the Lighthouse after observing the Mandarin Fish meeting. It was around 15m dive. I almost surfaced trying to fin away from it. Lesson learned: Don't annoy it!
