Do you pay permits to take pictures in public areas? In Miami i cannot take pictures of models or clients in public parks without a permit. This is really discouraging because as a photographer i do not make a whole lot to be paying the county money to take pictures on places that are funded with tax payers money like myself.

That places are not nearly ugly as my town.

i'm glad im watching this while in college (I'm in college to become a photographer, interested in fashion photography) because i'm getting so many ideas and I currently live in a town so there is not a whole lot of good open places so now I'm able to look harder and try better this year :D I went out yesterday and I didn't even realize it was golden hour and thought it was so pretty and my models eyes came out so pretty and then I realized that it was golden hour so now I want to go out more at this time rather than in the afternoon :)

Wow such a cool video I loved it!! It's amazing how with a really normal location you can take amazing pictures. Also how do you normally choose the outfit for the model?? Do you just pick one you like or you think first about the colours you are going to use and all that? I love your videos and I find them really useful so thank you so much!😊🧡

Im lucky to live in southern California but i will give you guys a setup secret I have done quite a bit even here. Get a very large rectangular light diffuser, like a 39x72 with the PVC piping. Stand it up, place a model in front of it with her backlit by the sun, get a fast prime lens and go. It will take some trial and error but when you get it right, you will get amazing pics that look like the model is glowing, its a very high key look. Everyone will ask how you got it, dont tell them :) Feel free to message me for some samples of how it looks.

great video, I definitely over obsess about the location
Wouter J. van Duin (3 months ago)
Very nice to see your attitude, approach and tips. Just great. But guess what, even cameras and lenses don't really make that much difference .... my camera FujiFilm XT-20, my lens to somehow match yours, either 7artisans 35 mm 1.2 or 7artisans 55 mm 1.4 ...... these lenses are manual, great and inexpensive ...... and manual exposure and focusing are very easy on X-sensor FujiFilm cameras .....

I love this so much! You're so right and I appreciate the reminder that we just need to open our eyes, not only our eyes, but our mind's eye too. I love this. Even though I live in the Seattle area, there are some pretty boring areas here too and I'm always thinking about taking my clients to the coolest locations when instead I should focus on exercising my creative eye.
