what is the difference between "curdate() and current_date()" AND "curtime() and current_time()"

Ashish, There’s no difference, these 2 functions are synonymous. And the function SELECT NOW(); will give date and time both in result. Hope that answers the question.

BUT Y IT DOESN'T WRK ON ORACLE 11G ERROR:MISSING RIGHT PARANTHESIS
